Ephraim Lewis - Skin 1992 I may or may not have mentioned Ephraim Lewis' only album Skin, released in 1992...

I bought this album upon release back in the day, after hearing the single "It Can't Be Forever" on the radio.
It remains one of my favourites 90s albums. This guys vocal range is incredible and the album is mesmorising.
He died tragically, just as he was about to hit the big time - terrible shame. Little? Yeah, right. It might be little but it's loud

Without question, one of the best, most underrated albums (and singer) of the last 25 years. Bought this shortly after It Can't Be Forever had been out for a while. I've also felt for years like this was one of the earliest releases (92) to bear a neo soul sound and production. Lewis' voice was stunning. He should have had the acclaim that Maxwell ended up with. Sad how his life ended.

Every few years someone will post about Ephraim Lewis, and it could never be too frequent as far as I'm concerned.
I think Ephraim's death preempted what could have been a stellar career and stands as one of the most tragic losses to R&B (and probably a number of other genres he'd have graced) in the past 25 years. I'm also shocked his catalog hasn't been tapped for solid, sophisticated cover material.
