Naughty Boy to remix Janet and Missy’s “BurnItUp!” for UK audience

UK producer Naughty Boy has told a newspaper that he will be remixing Janet’s upcoming single BurnItUp! featuring Missy Elliott.

The track, expected to be released this week, has been performed as the opening number at each of Janet’s shows on the Unbreakable Tour.

Naughty Boy told the Daily Mirror:

“I’m about to start work on a track with Janet featuring Missy Elliott. It’s set to be another massive collaboration. It’s very exciting times for the both of them.

“I’m going to be remixing the track for the UK and I look forward to meeting up with Janet soon.”

Naughty Boy has previously worked with Beyonce and Sam Smith.

Janet’s album will be released in the UK on October 2nd and HMV will stock an exclusive version of the CD which features two bonus tracks.

UK and European dates for the Unbreakable Tour are expected to be announced in the next week.

I wonder when they're going to shoot the video for it. Her tour schedule is pretty tight.

This is shaping up to be the comeback of the year for Janet!"No Sl333P" was written off as a FLOP @ first by many. Even though it was a slow burner, it has turned into a hit for her and is STILL number#1. Adding J. Cole to the remix was genius! The laid back video worked and wasn't overblown like Madonna's over extravagant productions. The tour is selling out steady. But it's still some haters out there trying to sabatage it.

Since we're being subjective and rattling off nonsense, it is really exciting that Janet is successful in her new effort as Madonna. Why pit them against each other? Both ladies have paid their dues and are doing it their way now.

ColeWorld had a couple of cool lines on the album version but I wasn't blown away by his feature though. I got a feeling they sensored his ass into talking about sweets being bad for your teeth n sh*t.

What do you guys think about the possibility of a new single ("Burnitup!") being released this week? I think it would be good to release it a week prior to the album release to help generate even more buzz and momentum around the Oct. 2nd. It will still feel fresh if they release it sometime between now and then.

Yes. "No Sleeep" was a nice single to lead her return and tour announcement with, but the album needs a push, IMO. It is time for a second single, and I think the hottest (dance) track is probably "Burnitup!".

The tour projection screens already had Missy footage showing for her raps, so they had time to shoot and print that. Maybe a video is already in the can.

J. Cole is hot right now! He was a good choice. Plus they looked good together in the video. Although Janet stayed a mile away from him in it for obvious reasons.

I thought of that too when I caught a sneak peak into the intro for the tour. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case, considering how well everything else has been rolling out. Hope you're right.

I thought of that too when I caught a sneak peak into the intro for the tour. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case, considering how well everything else has been rolling out. Hope you're right.

It was probably being filmed as "No Sleep" was just being released. I kinda remember "If" being filmed the same time "That's The Way Love Goes" was brand new.

Don't dispute how hot he is right now. One of my faves among the young emcees. Just thought his verse could've been better, that's all.

I agree his verse could have been better. It sounded like it was put together on the spot. But J.Cole is also my favorite out of the new emcee's. I was shocked when Janet choose him. But U don't have to get salty about.

Also in J. Cole defense he was on tour when asked tp participate in the remix & video. So everything had to be done quickly.

Janet Jackson spends a fifth week atop Adult R&B Songs (dated Oct. 3) with “No Sleeep,” featuring J. Cole, matching her longest reign (and only other No. 1), achieved when “I Get Lonely” led the chart for five consecutive weeks in 1998. Jackson has posted a total of 27 entries since the chart launched in 1993, including 11 top 10s. “No Sleeep” remains at No. 1 despite a 5 percent decline in spins during the tracking week ending Sept. 20, according to Nielsen Music.

This needs to be celebrated!!!

Me too! No sleeep is a classic, Unbreakable is strong, not a smash too (it would have been longer, but her vocals are ), but expectation are high!
