I saw Janet Jackson last night on the second date of her new world tour. It was absolutely mindblowing.
I wore a concert tee from Rhythm Nation Tour which stopped in my city 25 years ago, and was chosen before the show to be upgraded to FRONT ROW CENTRE! Between me and the stage, there was only a little aisle for the video cameras doing live projection, and as a result, I was on the projection screens quite a lot to where strangers were stopping me outside of the show because they recognized me.
The set list on page one looks right. Where it says DJ SET is when she changed costumes. Otherwise she was on stage the whole time, VERY high energy performances, dancing and live singing.
Janet blew me a kiss during the rap to "No Sleeep" and saw me blow it back to her!
Her new songs, you guys will love them. She has some content that is like the deeper stuff on Rhythm Nation, as far as human relationships ("After You Fall") and social commentary ("Should Have Known Better"). Then of course she has some of the most fun, kinetic music she's ever done, like the track with Missy ("Burn It Up")!
AHHHH!!! What great experiences!! Thanks for sharing. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide." |

You lucky dog you! Good for you. What an experience! Do you think, "Burnitup!" will do well if released as the next single? I think people are ready to DANCE to a Janet Jackson record. I'm really loving the title track "Unbreakable" but its mid-tempo groove may not be best to follow up "No Sleeep" with at this point. "Shoulda Known Better" would work as a third or fourth single. And who knows what other gems are on the rest of the album. |

Hey, any tips on how to get upgraded?
I hear you can get upgraded if you pre-order the album from her website when you buy tickets. Will this apply to international fans when she decides to tour here? I’m from the UK [Edited 9/4/15 6:01am] |

I have no idea how it happened, and not about to question it, LOL. I did buy tickets on a presale by preordering her vinyl though. |

Yeah I am assuming those are the singles and will be released one by one during the tour.
I think Burnitup has a better chance of being heard because it is the most fun, so I hope they go with that one! |

It's not many options Janet has. I guess her stylist has to come up with more paterns for her to cover up with. She still is beautiful either way. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! What I saw up close is that the underarms was rather sheer material, and the entire front of the stage was lined with fans that cooled her off and blew her hair around. |

If we pre-ordered the record, can we still participate in the presale for the 3rd leg? I'd like to catch her in Chicago or Milwaukee. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide." |

I would assume yes. I pre-ordered the record for the first leg, and I was emailed a code when the second leg went on presale (not the day the second leg was announced). |

Gil recently let it slip that this first leg is sort of a "test run", but that the second leg would be more elaborate. Now, what that entails, I don't know, but if there are three US legs of this tour then I'm sure there will be many changes along the way. "Get up off that grey line" |

I was looking online last night at all of her concert dates and there are several months in a row where she's performing two nights in a row, one day off, then two more on again. She's going to be EXHAUSTED by the time she's a few weeks into the 2nd leg. I also saw that in Canada (I think) when she goes back for the 2nd leg that there's one night where's she's going to do two shows in a row! I don't know if there was an error on the concert calendar (was looking at Ticketmaster) but if she's donig two shows in one night that's going to be rough! I hope she really brings it! I was checking ticket prices in my city and all of the floor seats and 2nd level are completely gone but the nosebleeds are being sold for $75-$120!!!! Ticket scalpers, radio stations and promoters most likely snagged all the good seats...kinda makes you appreciate how Prince does everything last minute sometimes Trolls be gone! |
