what do you mean it wasn't walk around friendly-tons of security?

The venue on the 1st floor was standing room only. I had a great spot.............but if u move, your spot is gone and u end up standinging in the back.

I hate standing venues, never again disbelief

There are a couple of good ones here, this was one of them.

The biggest problem is staying put or losing your spot.

Probably just wanted to change the setlist a bit. He did play it over here.

Well, we still have vids coming in from the tour at least!

Take note of the bassist... it's Pino's son Rocco, totally killing it. He's been playing with them since the Norfolk show.

Is he playing the whole show instead of Pino? (At work, can't watch video.)

If you were a recording star in the middle of touring, would you want a professionally shot HD, 1 hr long clip like his gig at Bonnaroo streaming online? wink

Heck yeah. Documentation of my amazing band, showing the world how f!@#ing amazing we are? Of course. If anything it may have resulted in a ticket boost, with people wanting to experience the show for themselves. Keep in mind it wasn't D's crew who took it down, it was Bonnaroo. My hunch is that D is generally cool with people sharing his work, since he himself was/is privy to that scene. Case in point: The reason 'Movie Star' was included on Crystal Ball was that it was D's favorite bootleg wink

nod Yeah, 'snooze and you lose', as they say.... Fortunately, a kindly soul sorted me out with a download. Looks like a great set. The one in London earlier in the year was terrific, so it's kinda nice to have a full show as a sort of memento.

One of my abiding memories from his concert was the sub-bass from that song juddering through my chest. One of those songs you need to hear in a live setting to get that full experience. biggrin It was the track that made me sit up and take notice when I first listened to the album, too.

Well, D and Kendra have known each other since 2008-2009.

I dislike anyone who gets to where they are on their back instead of their skill set, man, woman or opossum. Also, Kendra is smug, cocky and a showoff. It's annoying. Plus she is not that good of a singer. Adele and many others can sing rings around her.

First you assume a woman got to the top by fucking. Strike one. Then your excuse for not liking her is true of Prince: Kendra is smug, cocky and a showoff. It's annoying. Strike two. Her fucking or not fucking has zero correlation to if she is talented or not so why bring that up? Mick Jagger, Steven Tyler, Prince, Elton John, Justin Timberlake, etc. Every male rock star is promiscious as fuck but no one ever says "Oh he got to the top by fucking or he's not talented he's just a slut." Strike three. I know you didn't mean to project any of that but in today's world if you put something on the internet remember other people will see it. No hard feelings just pointing out the double standard that we all know is alive and well worldwide. Cheers mate.

I was about third row back, center stage, for the DC show last night. It was the best concert I've ever seen. D'Angelo and the Vanguard were fantastic. They clearly had a blast performing for the audience. It was amazing to be in a room with so many other people who were enthralled by the music. I usually stand still like an asshole at shows, but I couldn't help moving my ass last night! The music just speaks to me. Thanks to D and co!
