J. Lo Confirms Las Vegas Residency

Las Vegas has become a destination of choice for music's top divas, and Jennifer Lopez will soon be heading there herself.

The singer announced during Tuesday night's semi-final of American Idol that she would begin a residency in the city's Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in 2016.

''I've been preparing for this moment my entire life,'' she said.

''Jennifer is the perfect addition to the exciting line-up at The AXIS,'' Planet Hollywood regional president David Hoenemeyer said in a statement.

His colleague at Caesars Entertainment, Jason Gastwirth, agreed and added: ''Jennifer's show will be the perfect combination of a cutting-edge production spectacular and an extraordinarily fun night-out, all centered around a supremely talented international superstar.''

Does she have enough hits to do a Vegas show though? I think most people who go to these Vegas show aren't looking for "art" they are looking to hear songs they know and can sing along with.

Celine Dion, Britney Spears and Mariah Carey have a lot more hits over a longer period of time than J-Lo.

I'm not sure I can assign a number to the seemingly unlimited series of hit releases she has amassed throughout the years. wink

Some of the popular Vegas acts of the past like Robert Goulet, Engelbert Humperdinck & Wayne Newton didn't really have a lot of big chart hits.

I'm pretty sure -JLO has more billboard top ten hits then Celine Dion and Spears.

Don't care about any of these artists - but it's not like she is a one hit wonder.

I'll tell you one thing about her, she used to be God awful live, like painfully horrible....but it's obvious that she really put the work into being a better live performer vocally.

Not that I think anything will be sung live for these shows.

Her residency launches in 8 months. I plan my yearly/bi-yearly visits to Vegas 8 to 9 months ahead of time.

Jennifer Lopez is headed to Las Vegas, but before she sets up shop at Planet Hollywood, she gave fans a peek at her spectacular stage show. (Source: RU)

Anyone who would pay to see this no-talent sing off-key should have their head examined. Why not just burn your money?
