Tina Turner's Private Dancer 30th Anniversary Edition

*I'm not even going say, what y'all KNOW I really want to say. Nope! Not even going to waste the energy.* disbelief

Anyhoo, for anyone who likes when artists do this sort of thing for their fans...

http://www.tina-turner.nl...y-edition/

Here is the long awaited tracklist of the new Private Dancer 30th Anniversary Edition.
The 2CD will be released ...f May 2015.
Unfortunately all songs are from previous albums or singles. So no new versions.
Big thanks to Aleksander!

  14. One Of The Living
  15. It’s Only Love (with Bryan Adams)

Tina Turner’s classic album Private Dancer was a huge global success on its release in June 1984 and became Tina Turner’s breakthrough solo album, thanks in part to an 18-month single release schedule that saw no fewer than seven songs from the ten-track album released in various territories, including ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It’, ‘Better Be Good To Me’, ‘Private Dancer’ and a cover of Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’.
To celebrate this 30 year milestone we are releasing an extra special Anniversary Edition. This edition compiles the remastered album and a second disc which features Ball Of Confusion (That’s What The World Is Today) (with B.E.F.), recorded with Martin Ware from Heaven 17, and which lead to him producing the lead single from Private Dancer ‘Let’s Stay Together’. It also features 12” mixes and b-sides as well as three non-album singles, including the duet with Bryan Adams ‘It’s Only Love’.

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I'll probably skip this since it's basically a rehash of the deluxe edition Walmart has for $5 plus a few cuts tacked on that I already have. The only track I don't recognize is "Don't Mess With My Baby". Too bad they couldn't include "Crazy In the Night", a track from the "Summer Lovers Soundtrack" she did a couple years prior to "Private Dancer". That song still remains unreleased on CD.

The original album has a sheen that actually didn't sound like it was begging for a remaster, but I LOVE the second disc! Especially having those b-sides (which I had collected a few of) and the Mad Max Beyond The Thunderdome hits.

That's my jam!

There are CDs (ahem, Prince & The Revolution) mastered so poorly that I would probably buy them again with NO extras.

Am I a bad fan for not knowing that Tina covered "Lets Pretend We're Married"? YouTube has live versions - how is this studio version? Neat that she covered "Baby I'm A Star" - I wonder how close those two are.

YES! Fail! it's one of her biggest concert staples from when she came back biggrin

Anyone serious about the TT needs the 1964-94 collected recording boxset...it made me gay in 8th grade (no in all seriousness, it's the shit)

There is no studio version of Let's Pretend Wére Married by Tina. The only one ever included on single and album was a live in Chicago that was unfortunately fadding out before the end of the song (because It was immediately followed by Hot Legs).

Here is a link to a couple of articles about Prince's songs covered by Tina

And i do agree about the "poor" setlist and package... A shame for such an album and artist.

That's right, the original b-side was a live version.
