Just because I don't own any of the Beatles music doesn't mean I never heard any of it or aren't familiar with a couple "songs", if I want to call the noise they make "songs".

Sorry, but I highly disagree with this:

.
I don't know what people have against Mariah, but of the three divas from the vocal trinity: Her, Whitney, and Celine. Mariah is the most diverse.
.
Like Michael Jackson, her vocal stylings change with every album and she has dabbled in nearly every major genre: Rock ("You Need Me" from her debut), Jazz ("The Wind" from Emotions), Reggae ("Cruise Control"), Rap ("Prisoner" from her debut) and many more.
.
If we're talking female pop singers, Beyonce is the one, who, if you've heard one record, you've heard them all. [Edited 3/30/15 20:38pm] [Edited 3/30/15 20:56pm]

I don't really agree with the thread question... I doubt that people who really think "Once you've heard one album, you've heard them all" of almost any artist are listening closely enough. Even the most formulaic artists evolve over time. But of all of the things I'd criticise MJ for, a lack of diversity in his catalogue would be the very last thing. Taking himself too seriously with some of his later music, maybe.

The 33 1/3 album first came about around 1939 and since there's been thousands of acts all over the world in all kinds of genres, from the famous to local acts in a city. So you've listened to every single album that has been released to determine this? You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
