Freestyle music is like 70s disco....it's fun, with alot of energy. It's music that's made strictly for the clubs."Spring Love" by Stevie B. is a favorite of mine,as is "Point Of No Return" by Expose.
What are your favorite freestyle artists and songs? [Edited 3/22/15 21:47pm]

I recently got the Deluxe version of Expose's 1987 classic album Exposure. It is now a stunning 2-CD remaster with an entire second disc of remixes and alternate versions! Highly recommended.

I still have the cassette tape of his 1989 24/7 album.I think it's time for a fresh remaster of that album.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Taylor Dane is still around? She had a helluva voice. I really dug Tell It To My Heart.

Great thread idea. I always liked this one a lot: " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Maybe not a "real" Freestyle group per se, but Full Force produced Lisa Lisa&Cult Jam in a way that is also reminiscent of the Freestyle genre and these days they are often considered as an essential part of that type of music. Too bad that the original version of this song is no longer on Youtube...this is the only version I could find:

I see several posted including the music video. Maybe they're blocked in your country and they didn't show up. They don´t show up on Youtube and when I click on the links you provided I can´t listen to them because they are blocked. I need to figure out a way to use a proxy or something. A thread about 1980's freestyle is never complete without mentioning The Cover Girls!

That is so cool that you get Expose, SoulAlive. I’m going to the one here in Colorado. I am very excited to see Taylor Dayne, Seduction, and the Cover Girls! Can you believe no one wants to go with me? I’m going to go by myself and still have a great time
