Has any1 heard any news on George Clinton's new "Parliament" album?

I read a George Clinton interview a few months back where he said he would be releasing 2 new albums, a "Funkadelic" album, which has been released, & it is very funky I might add, & a "Parliament" album, which I highly anticipate!!

I was wondering has any1 heard any news on George Clinton's "Parliament" album?

Release date?

Anythang?

Also, FYI, Nile Rodgers has a "Chic" album coming out real soon, according to Dr. Funkenberry.

Excited about that!!

Nile Rodgers is 4unky!!

I had no idea that he wrote alot of Madonna's hits, David Bowie's "Let's Dance", etc.

So I'm very excited to hear this new "Chic" album..

Nile Rodgers produced Madonnas second album-
he did not write any of her hits.

er

Maybe he decided to put them together into one release-the 3 CD set out now. After all, there's not that much difference between Parliament and Funkadelic any more.

Exactly--but there's enough good songs--at least one CD--to make it worth the while to buy it.

Im actually quite disappointed with the album. There is a lot of meandering filler that goes nowhere. And the autotune hip hop nonsense does nothing for me.

That aside, I also read an interview with GC and he mentioned the Parliament album. He was also talking about the tripple Funkadelic album in the same interview so it did sound like a seperate project.

I agree..

It's slammin, plus he went ol' skool on it..

Which is why I'm eager to hear if he brought back that strong P-Funk sound on the new Parliament album like on the "Mothership Connection" album, & "Dr. Funkenstein".

One can only hope..

George is 4unky!!!!!!

Sounds like the same interview I read..

So u know what I'm talkin bout..

I believe George & Prince are kinda missing it when they try to trend with today's youth, & fail to realize that most of the artist today are pulling out their records from the 70's & 80's..

Drop the rap, drop the auto-tune, get Bootsy on the bass, & get bak 2 some old fashioned thumpin, using today's technology for enhancement..

But, I agree with u, cutting corners aren't for the pros..

The problem with the record released under the name "Funkadelic" is that the material originates from too many sessions (even the overall sound quality changes considerably between the songs!). I'm hoping the "Parliament" album will have more recent material only and not all kinds of "rarities" from the last 15+ years added there.

I noticed that too..

Knowing George Clinton, I figured he did it on purpose..

But u're right, the sound was a bit watery on some cuts..

and yes I really hope he brings some strong P-Funk on the "Parliament" album..

I'm hoping it comes out soon..I wanted to hate "Shake The Gate" (based on the Org. reviews I read here) but I love it. Hopefully it will be a 3 CD set too.

It shouldn't be that hard to get the remaining funkonuats together for a consistent 'recorded in the same studio over a limited period' album of 8-9 classic sounding P-Funk jams - get Bootsy, get Bernie, get the Maceo, Fred and the remaining Jbs, Plus George's touring band (Blackbyrd, Michael etc). and play it all live - no samples or modern machines. I don't mind rappers taking part but they gots to be good (something like the Brand New Heavbies: Heavy Rhyme Experience?)
