I don't understand why this performance (of all) is spreading through the media. She's given MUCH WORSE performances. One commenter said she dodged the whistles. Umm, this song doesn't have any whistles.

Besides, Mariah's vocal during this performance is better than any artist currently being played on Top 40.

Instead, they should be dragging her for the contouring on her double chin. Good lord, did Coco Montrese do her makeup??

Remember those days when she was promoting "We Belong Together" with that canned final note? I don't think she ever sang that note outside of the studio.

I won't go as far and say that it's over for MC, but she needs to evaluate her situation at this point. She needs to go and fine tune her instrument and stop making bullshit music.

Wow! I think you guys and most other social media commentators are overreacting! This is not that bad at all. I was expecting much worse judging from what i've read. I thought she sounded pretty strong but yes, definitely a little winded and couldn't hit the high notes so well. I think if Mimi did more cardio, perhaps she would have more stamina during performances but it really wasn't that bad. This was way better than any Taylor Swift performance I've ever seen. In fact better than most top 40 acts out there today.

It wasn't that bad, but she has definitely lost something. She doesn't sing as well as she used to. It seems that entertainers just don't know when to hang it up though.

She is in need of long layoff, possible retirement is imminent. She looks woredown.

My favorite singer, who people here probably haven't heard of developed problems singing live in mid-career in the late 80's - early 90's, but it was largely psychological. People talked up how perfect and beautiful her voice was.. and that she had the "voice of an angel" blah blah blah and I think the psychological pressure became too much, along with serious relationship problems. She went to a shrink and a vocal coach and in time she got it all back and she's been sounding perfect ever since.

I think MC's problems are probably psychosomatic too (i.e. she's having real physical results from psychological stress). She needs to take a time out, get her head straight first with a shrink, get her self-esteem issues under control, and slowly ease her way back into music with a vocal coach. Even the best of opera singers use them, there should be no shame in asking for help in getting back what she once had.

Why is everybody dumping on my woman? Don't you know she was probably nervous because of all the protesters in back screaming about the Eric Garner grand jury decision?

OK, I had to speak up like a true stan. Honestly, I missed the show because I was watching the reaction to said grand jury decision on MSNBC. I can't judge what she did last night, but it's obvious to me she hasn't been to her prior vocal form for the past few years. It haappens to all singers, and most of them find ways to adjust, whether it's singng in lower keys, sininging falsetto, etc. I know she's been bad lately but she can't possibly be any worse than the most recent starlet the media is fawning over. (Cough,cough,coughTaylorSwiftcough).

She just had an "off" performance. It was cold outside and instead of breakin' her down, why not just build your sista UP? It's a rangey song and she handled it with her usual aplomb despite the pitch issues. Her throat was probably dry and the air most likely didn't help matters any. LOVE Mariah!

lovely. Mariah hasn't taken well care of voice. She indulges in drinking;possibly smoking. It is a harsh reality, she was great one in lifetime voice.
