You really want to pretend Beyonce is not overexposed?
If she was taking a risk why did she leak Grown Woman and Flawless to test which song could be a potential single last summer? The whole album drop over itunes was definitly a calculated well thought out plan because her camp knew there was no sure singles after the songs they tested failed. If you think it was a risk fine.... but I don't.
It was a risk, especially if you believe that the "the songs they tested failed". The album is now a hit.
How is it a hit when the album is no longer in the charts?
How is it a hit when the album was not the best selling album this year?
How is it a hit when the album produced not one number one single?
I am lost.
It was not a risk. It was a cheap gimmicky marketing ploy which we see had no lasting impact. |

Beyonce's album is the best selling album by an artist of 2014. It's sales are only bested by the Frozen soundtrack. She was the only artist this year to have an album be certified multiplatinum...and she is the first black female artist to go multiplatinum since 2008 (and the last time a black female artists album was RIAA-certified multiplatinum it was her with her IASF album.)
Personal grudges aside, the Beyonce album is absolutely a hit. "Janet Jackson is like an 80s sitcom that's been off the air for over 25 years; you see a rerun and realize it wasn't that great..." |

I am sorry but this is bullshit... Now I will quietly leave. Her initial sales were good (not going to hate on that) but she did not have the best selling album this year. *Leaves* |

Whatever. Here are two links that back up that her album IS the top selling (by an artist)
http://www.billboard.com/articles/6259342/1994-vs-2014-top-selling-albums-comparison http://blackamericaweb.com/2014/10/23/beyonce-keeps-winning-with-beyonce-reigning-as-top-selling-album-of-2014/
So you were wrong. Your venomous vendetta against Beyonce is both conspicuous and tiresome. I'm sorry that she came to your house with a baseball bat, smashed all your windows, knocked out all your teeth, kicked your cat, and cursed out your parents -- leaving you forever shoulder chipped at the sound of her name, but don't sit up here and try to refute facts. Again, her album is the second best seller of the year (and the top seller by an artist), which means that her album IS a hit. Reconcile it and move on.

So if it is the second best seller that means it is not the number one best No one is denying she is successful but the overhype needs to stop.
That was the only point I was making.
Why do some of ya'll feel everyone has to worship the ground she walks on? This is a public forum and people can say whatever they want. Reconcile this everyone does not care for her and will express that, have a good day. |

Swift's new album sold 2M copies in its first three weeks, according to figures released by Soundscan.
No doubt she will experience more robust sales during the year-end holiday season. |

to be honest if you havent put the album out yet this tuesday was the last chance with the way music is selling. Alot of acts that had new albums due in December have pushed them to later in January. Basically the year is over for new stuff that is gonna incite sales, people know what they want as gifts between Streisand and Swift they corner the fucking market right now. As for the older crowd i still see Floyd maybe holding on to some sales but most likely not, that album is gonna fade away. Foo Fighters will remain strong as they wrap up their HBO series with the show now going to Seattle then New York, but they just announced a world tour and that album is doing a shit load of sales overseas, the album has done a million worldwide already. No impact? That's your opinion. No wonder you can't see how it's a hit. BTW it was released a year ago, and it WAS a best-seller, even if it was not THEEEEEEEEE best seller as Taylor Swift released an album since our argument started. |

Once again, her PR people are really on top of things by over-exposing her. This is making local news! I was watching the news this morning and they brought up this CD release every hour for four bloody hours! I'm like, really? Other artists re-release CDs all the time and it never makes the news but since Beyonce is doing it, it becomes a news-worthy event? I wonder have they done an in-depth story about it on CNN yet?
