The Elusive Chanteuse is embarking on a world tour. Mariah Carey has announced the first dates for The Elusive Chanteuse Show.

The tour, her first since 2006 will launch with two dates in Japan on October 4 and 6 before playing 12 dates throughout Asia including Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, and her first-ever visit to mainland China.

The set list will include a mix of Mimi’s biggest hits, fan favorites, and never-before-performed tracks off her latest album Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse.


“I want to experience the spontaneity and emotion that I put into this album on stage with my fans,” said Carey. “I can’t stop writing songs so don’t be surprised if you hear a brand new song that I just wrote the night before the show in your city!”

October 10 - Beijing, China, Workers' Stadium
October 12 - Chengdu, Sichan, China, Chengdu Stadium

This is the smartest thing she's done in awhile.These days,artists can't sit at home and rely on huge record sales.They gotta get out there and WORK.Touring is where the real money is.

That's mostly true, but the real money is in publishing. Fortunately for Mariah, she wrote most of her songs, so she has a huge catalog to sit back on. Having said that, she needs to get out and be seen. She probably wouldn't get much interest these days here in the USA (her last tour was playing small theaters), but she still has some loyal fans in Asia.

I wonder who her musical director and band will be on this tour.

She's seizing an opportunity to re-establish her brand and engage her most loyal fans. I think she's making all the right moves.

No US tour? Last tour I remeber her on here was in arenas not small theaters. You may be confusing her with Janet.
