Shawy89 said: All Kanye West albums except Dark Fantasy. sgt pepper was a creative jump in pop music, although the standout tracks are there with filler just like any mere mortal album. I personally think Day in the Life is one the greatest pop songs ever created, and it so stretches that idea of pop-ular. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Yeah, speaking of Nirvana, the whole thing is just over the top, the whole Kurt Cobain image and suicide just managed to keep Nirvana as a legendary band, and the song 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' a sacred song.. It's all about image in my opinion.

It was, I guess. But judging my listening to their material from one album to another chronologically, I just can't see what's changed, is it the orchestral sequences? The new weird thing John does with his voice? It was all the same with Revolver, they just added new instruments.

Pet Sounds. I love the story of the album, the themes, and Wouldn't It Be Nice is one of my favorite songs of all time but, for whatever reason, I can't listen to the entire LP without hitting skip more often than not. And it's not like I haven't given it a chance to sink in or anything. Purple is the color of my heart,

It's all just so subjective, isn't it?
Babynoz doesn't get what's all the fuss about Lovesexy and I think LS is not only the best thing Prince has ever done, I think it is in a class by itself and shouldn't even be considered in a comparison thread, not even about Prince discs!
Lovesexy rules. It's like the contemporary equivalent of an exquisite Mozart symphony. One long piece from beginning to end with incredible orchestral passages equal to any Aaron Copland composition to tie together the funk 'n roll.
SP got it's reputation for how different it was from anything that had come before at the time of it's release.

Almost all of Jay-Z's discography except Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, and The Black Album. Hell, even blueprint is overrated imo. His other albums is filler after filler after filler to my ears. Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

I think The Beatles, The Who, AC/DC, The Eagles, Oasis, Green Day, Pink Floyd and Bob Marley are irredeemably horrible. I've suffered through some of their albums through various polls. Don't like the Dylan albums I have heard either, though there were maybe 2 songs I at least liked. Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! Lady Gaga - Entire Discography ... Some of y'all fell for that hook line & stinker. If she's so talented and sounds so good with just a piano bla bla bla why does all her crap sound the same? . Frank Ocean ... zzzz . Lorde - Cheap sounding nonsense, I guess impressive for a kid in HS in Estonia or whatev. . The Eagles . Disclosure . Lil Wayne . A$AP Anything . The Weeknd

Some others that I think are average at best are on this page.
R.E.M. is so consistently just below average for me. Graceland is pretty bad, and Org favorite The Nightfly was quite snoozeworthy in my book.

^Wow, I find The Nightfly pretty amazing, that one I would never mention in this thread!

The 20/20 Experience Part 1- Not only does Part 2 actually have more songs I enjoy, Part 1 is simply a decent album that the media was trying to push as though it was sequel to Thriller itself. Overrated to hell and I can't see the hype. Unorthodox Jukebox is better.
Pure Heroine- I like Lorde, she has been blessed with an authentic gift of singing, is extremely talented and isn't/ doesn't come off as the gimmick her next door neighbor, Iggy Azalea is but man, her first album seems like such a chore to get through. Couldn't make it past the second song before getting bored.
Channel Orange- Too subdued and samey sounding for me to get into. Perfect cure for insomnia though. Frank is good but this album doesn't really reflect that IMO.
Magna Carta Holy Grail- Jay Z on autopilot and everyone last year was acting like it was his best album yet. Not a fan of the guy anyway.
Invincible- An underrated and oft overlooked album of MJ's but even so, it's fairly popular and I don't see what those who defend it see. About 4 songs I can get into; a quarter of the album. Not good.
Lady Gaga's entire discography- Even if she's the originator of the current day "wild girl" image, she's all show and no substance and her music for the most part is pretentiously average to me. For all the talk of how much artistic integrity she possesses, I have yet to consider her music artistic; at least on the level that her stans do.

who else lol? I'm shock about Luis Miguel thought you liked him.
I don't like music by Janelle(She's a beauty though. Reminds of a GF back in the day), COLDPLAY(Leaves me cold ) R. Kelly, Erika Badu, Kanye(Cry baby), Taylor Swift(I think she would be a good actress though), Miguel(boring), Juan Gabriel(good writer though), Lana Del Rey etc. I'll add more as I remember. . . . Keith Sweat. I like 1 or 2 of his songs, mostly for the music. Other than that I've never dug his voice and singing style to want to listen to an entire album, or to listen to him on purpose. He's one of those people I'd turn the station when he came on. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Makes sense.. she wasn't really getting over by being a soul music purist in craft.. the fusion of hip hop with her singing was what drew me in.
