Just regarding the bolded part....I don't think this is a case of him not knowing it was hurtful, cause I recall reading (could be wrong) that in one of the vids, a friend told him not to say it..so this little bitch knew what he was saying was wrong.
Also I don't think it will hurt his career, i'm pretty sure his target audience is not black.

He was 14. He was probably thinking that saying that word is an act of coolness. He recently made an apolgy for his other video where he also pronounced the n word. Whoever supplies TMZ with this is someone who hates JB so much as we all do but thought that this could end his career (It could). Biebs is mostly surrounded with black people, even Usher saw these clips at the time they were filmed and he taught JB that what he did is racist.
I despise JB and his ego... but this has no right to end his career, what would y'all say if a hater of yours posted on Facebook a clip of yours when you were like 14 (a kid, obviously) saying racist words you never thought at the time were so hurtful? (Take in account at the time he filmed all this / circa 2009 / he had just arrived from Canada where he obviously had no background of the racism in US)
Anyway, I think JB's career is kinda FINISHED already, like, ever since he egged that neighbor.... Ain't that enough?
"I know that living with u baby, was sometimes hard...but I'm willing 2 give it another try.
Cause nothing compares....nothing compares 2 u!"
At any age in my life I've never uttered racist statements or comments or jokes about anyone.. I don't know where some people grow up where that type of thing is normal or acceptable or even "funny"..

I don't know if you have seen the other tape that leaked the day or so after the first one. He was making references to the KKK and that's what shocked me the most. I don't think the Klan was a strong presence in Canada where Bieber is from. In fact, you'd actually have to know that part of American history to even joke about it. I doubt his career is ruined but I wouldn't be surprised if he signed a contract with Young Money Records and eventually becomes a "rapper". There are so many artists that are trying to be pop and hip-hop/R&B at the same time, so he'd fit right in at Young Money.
The kid seemed to have plateaued anyway. I can't remember the last hit song of his that stayed on the Top 5 on Billboard's Hot 100 pop chart. He's been fading every since his outlandish public antics and the preconceived notion that he wants to be Black. "That Little Twist fella his gonna corrupt him. He needs to get rid of all those thugs around him." True quote overheard @ work.

The machine has no problem finding another Bieber to appeal to that pre-teen-teen demographic.

I still say that the record companies are responsible for the downfall of their artists. They are already trying to hype up this Austin Mahone kid or whatever. I also saw reports blaming Lil Twist for Bieber's downfall which is only part of the equation. You are so right about the machine. It's vicious. They made this kid get all these tattoos, etc. because they wanted to change his image. His attempt to add blackness/street cred is what made the tide turn for this guy. I still wonder why those tapes were made in the first place....
Fourteen is really not that young. Kids at that age are pretty clear on what these words mean and what effect saying them has. Plus, you can see from the video that he knows what he's saying, and the bit about killing and the KKK adds a nastier edge to this clip than the first one. Quite possibly his feelings about actual Black people are more complex, especially now he's spent more time working with various people in the industry; but it does make you wonder what kind of talk and what kind of attitudes were common currency at home and amongst his peer group at that point of his life.
I don't like all the build-'em-up-and-knock-'em-down celebrity media stuff, and if there has been an element of someone trying to use this to blackmail him, that's all deeply unpleasant. That doesn't really let him off the hook, though, I don't think. It just adds to the asshole count.

The fact that he did this at age 14 doesn't make it any less offensive. He wasn't mentally challenged at that age and it's obvious that he thought he was being funny and smart bringing the KKK in it to add injury to insult. I actually gave this guy a pass for all the criticism he took regarding his career in the past when he was a kid but this behavior is inexcusable.
I never paid attention to the dude anyway but since this is the second recent racist incident to make the news I have no problem with his stupid ass getting raked on the coals. Fuck him and his music.
The biggest irony of all is that Justin was spending the last 3 years (2012-2014) of his life AND career trying too hard being the "white nigga archtype", even when surrounded by just some of the biggest fake gangstas (EXAMPLE: Rick Ross) in the music industry. And lets not forget that in some of the pictures of his last concert tour, Justin was dressing like Vanilla Ice mkII.

I forgot about the Rick Ross thing! I think I saw RR in another Mayweather video with Justin Bieber (Mayweather's entourage)
