Boy George and Culture Club Back Together Again

Making a new album and going on tour. woot!

http://www.chad.co.uk/wha...-1-6626930

The original Culture Club line-up have confirmed they are to play live dates across the UK for the first time in over 15 years.

The tour will include a show on Saturday 6th December 2014 at Capital FM Arena Nottingham.

There is not a country in the world that doesn’t know the names of Boy George and Culture Club.

The Grammy Award winners have sold in excess of 100 million singles and over 50 million albums, making it as one of the biggest pop bands of the 1980s.

They achieved seven straight Top 10 hits in the UK, had number 1 singles in over a dozen countries and multi platinum album sales across the world, and were first group since The Beatles to have three Top Ten hits in America from a debut album.

They were also the first group in music history to have an album certified diamond in Canada.

The band consisted of Mikey Craig (bass guitar), Roy Hay (guitar and keyboards), Jon Moss (drums and percussion) and flamboyant front man Boy George (lead vocals).

Prior to these live dates Culture Club will be going into the studio to record new material, with producer Youth (Paul McCartney, The Verve, Embrace) for an album to be released early in 2015.

Joining Culture Club on this tour will be very special guest Alison Moyet, well renowned musical icon, who has amassed sales of more than 20 million records both as a solo artist and half of influential duo Yazoo. In 2013 Alison returned to her electro roots with her album ‘the minutes’, a Top 5 hit in the UK. Alison toured throughout the last quarter of the year visiting UK, Europe, USA and South Africa topping it off with a triumphant show at the Royal Albert Hall in April 2014.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 23rd May priced at £43.12 and £54.32 (includes administration fee).

Tickets can be booked online at www.capitalfmarena.com/on...ultureclub, via 0843 373 3000 or in person at Ticketing & Customer Services, Bolero Square, The Lace Market, Nottingham, NG1 1LA.

It's nice to see some artists know how and when to give their fans exactly what they want. Too bad I can't say that for everybody. **cough** Ecnirp **cough** geek

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

.

Now what I'd like to see is Alison fill in the parts that Helen Terry did as a background singer on so many of their songs, like 'Church of the Poison Mind', and 'Time'. It's kind of unfortunate that Boy George's voice seems to have gone down a considerable couple octaves, so it's going to be curious to see how he'll pull off all the old CC songs.

.

I don't want your rhythm without your rhyme

Very excited to see what they come up with, my favourite albums of theirs are the two last ones. Not sure I'll be attending the show, though, my town is their last stop so I imagine there'll be some frayed tempers by then!

Well yeah, but isn't that the reason most of us work? And I don't think a reunion once every 15 years is excessive. wink

I hope there are some US shows too. I agree that since Moyet is on the tour, she would be great in the Helen Terry role.

George tried to tour the US with the Culture Club material a few years back. I remember buying tickets to the Chicago show and then having to get a refund because his visa was revoked or something and the tour was canceled. I'd love to see them. Hopefully George's voice holds up.

Half the Revolution looks like they should be on walkers. How would they keep up with Prince who is also aging but comes off as being physically fit.

Prince ain't no spring chicken himself rolleyes he can't move like he did in 1984,either.If he toured with the Revolution,he would touring with people who are (gasp) in his own age group. What a concept, huh? lol
