Chromeo White Women.

Just got the new Chromeo album White Women.

Another great album from them, that 4 from 4. they are probably from favorite band of the the last 10 years.

After 3 listens stand outs are Come alive, Sexy socialite and old 45's. Old 45's really reminds me of Hall and Oates, which is a very good thing.

highly recommend this album.

They had already released the "big tracks" to the public, so that took away from the excitement quite a bit. Apparently, the album went to #1 on iTunes, so their release plan must have worked though.

I like "Old 45's" the most myself and then maybe "Over Your Shoulder". In general, they seem to have gone more towards that Daft Punk "Get Lucky" sound on the singles, which is not really why I've been into Chromeo myself.

They've been talking about a lot how this record is a big step forward for them, but I'm not sure if that's the case. Songs like "Night By Night" and "When The Night Falls" had more depth to them and had far more interesting song structures synth arrangements. Most of the songs on the new one sound sort of, I don't know, flat. I'm not so sure about some of Dave1's vocals either, he's starting to develop questionable mannerisms.

I'll definitely give the record a good amount of spins still, but my overall sentiment is veering more towards disappointment this time around.

Haven't heard it yet but looking forward to it. I was a bit disappointed by the last one, which wasn't as agressive as the first 2 but Chromeo remains one of my fave bands of the last 10 years!

Didn't like the previous one at all. Here, I really like "Old 45's", "Frequent Flyer" and the one with Solange.

I quite like it based on one listen. I doubt they'll ever match Fancy Footwork again, but I really enjoy all four albums.

This one ventures more into nu-disco than synth funk, but it suits them well.
