i'm kinda over U2

just can't seem to get into them anymore... and they were definately one of my fav's... i liked ALL their albums.. even "pop" smile .. but lately i have no desire at all to listen to their music... i wonder if it's because, a couple of years ago at the grammys... bono came across as a complete wanker... SO full of his own importance .. anyway... i hope it's just a passing phase

Bono is arrogant, but so is Prince. Doesn't seem to hurt thier music! smile

I just recently discovered U2 (listening to them right now), and I think they are fuckin' brilliant. The music is so joyful and alive. . .that Lovesexy feeling comes through loud and clear for me.

I forgot what award show it was on, but a few years ago Phil Collins was the host and he went to an interview with U2 who were sitting in a pub somewhere, making fun of Phil Collins. Quite humurous.

Oh well, stuck in a moment he can't get out of I suppose.

Yeah, I think this Oscar bid is kinda pretentious. The Hands that Build America...it's just sooo, I don't know,...over the top important music you know?

They used to be more against the evils in North America more before. THe whole Zoo TV thing was inspired by media manipulation and jamming it with exposures of Bush daddy, activism and protest, etc., the original CyberPunk attitude of it all was fabulous.

I just kind of miss their rebeliousness in a way. Now that Bono's taken to help the AIDS crisis in Africa, that's great, but I have yet to hear a war protest song from them.

"...and they run...and they run...and they run...into the arms...of America."

Me 2. I was a big U2 fan in the 80's and early 90's. I even saw them live during their Zoo TV tour. (Still have the ticket stub!) Just sorta fell out of them. I'm still feeling their older stuff, though. "Mysterious Ways" is my joint. The last single I purchased was "Discotheque."
