Does Drake Have Your Respect Now?

After his much lauded debut as Saturday Night Live host, people are begging for him to be a regular cast member and wondering why he didn't persue acting instead of rapping. Let's face it, he's always been yummy enough to eat with a spoon, but is Drake a comic genius? Has the bar been lowered so low that the likes of Justin, Bruno and Drake are considered the best that SNL has to offer, or is there just not that much to SNL style acting? OR, are they just that charming and nice-guy all american ready for TV that they win you over with their charm, talent and charisma?

I was more impressed with his acting, than his singing.

He was ok.

I wouldn't say he was good enough

to be a cast member.

He was as good as Gaga - he had his

moments but he wasn't on the level of a cast

member.

I think of Drake like I think of Beyonce. They both make music for women and clearly there is a place for that. Clearly he has something that has him on top. I only saw the skit he did of Kat Williams and that was spot on. Not funny all the way thru but spot on.

When I think of that episode of SNL the funniest thing was the imitation of

Justin Bieber the woman did in the opening bit.

Nothing on the rest of the show was as funny as that.

She had all his mannerisms down.

Plus the fact that a woman was doing the imitation helped

make it hilarious. biggrin

I do actually like Drake, i just wish he would stop acting hard. I worked on one of his music videos! and he seemed like a very chill and funny guy. And he has had some great songs like Too Much, Hold On, We're Going Home (The best song in the top 40 for the past few month IMO), Take Care, Lord Knows, Own It etc. I think those are some great songs! but the songs of him trying to act hard confused

Worst Behavior wHEN he's like ''Bitch better have my money before i come through like ODB'' lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

And, even though he doesn't like to admit it. He does refrence money ALOT he says he doesn't and that he's different. But 75% of his songs mention his cash flow.

If he sticks with love songs, soft joints, or social joints. Then i will respect him a lot more.

Comedy wise he's pretty good wink

I saw a 3min clip and that was enough for a TV/MOVIE Producer to seek a meeting with his Management team. He's got a "Brand" already in place now he needs to decide if he wants a 2nd Career.

Nope. Sick of these soft, Bitch Boy entertainers. Makes me miss 50 Cent, DMX, Tupac and Biggie even more. But hey if doing these lame tv skits keeps him away from the mic and spitting out shitty songs like 'Going Home' then I'm all for it.

Yeah I watched and and I thought he was pretty good. Forgot he has acting chops from DeGrassi The Next Generation. Sure, he's all right.

The Timberlake Method has proven effective. And Drake has the experience to pull it off.

Though I've never been impressed with him as an MC, "Started From The Bottom" earned my respect.

You do realize that the Rappers you mentioned above took "soft" acting roles in TV & Movies? They wanted to be Super-Star Actors like the average Musical Artist. A Dude's Masculinity does not determine whether or not he's going to succeed in Life. Flying Bullets didnt care who Tupac & Biggie was as Men but those Bullets were the result from back and forth Bitch-talking and Bitch-threats.
