A Very Siouxsie Christmas

Siouxsie & The Banshees - Israel (1981)

Siouxsie & The Banshees - Red Over White (1981)

Siouxsie & The Banshees - Il Est NĂ© Le Divin Enfant (1982)

The Creatures - Red Wrapping Paper (2001)

Even though "Israel"/"Red Over White" was a Christmas single, I don't really assoicate those songs with the holidays since I listen to them all year-round. The French carol and the Creatures' "Red Wrapping" Paper, however are definitely Christmas favorites.

Nice!!

I'd love to hear some new material from her. "Mantaray" was so underrated and overlooked, it was an amazing album.

I tried to get into Mantaray but it just didn't happen. Maybe I'll give it a spin and see if my opinion has changed of it. I just had the impression it was really generic sounding, even when Hai! came out I felt like I was stretching to like it, it had 2-3 decent tracks and rest I just couldn't get into.

Change it one more time..

I wasn't a huge fan of Hai to be honest, but I really really loved "Mantaray." I played it to death. "Into a Swan"... "Here Comes That Day"... "Loveless"... "If It Doesn't Kill You".... such great songs. Definitely give it another spin if you have a chance, maybe you'll enjoy it more this time.

I prefer Hai to Mantaray. There are a few songs on the latter I like a lot, but without Budgie's drumming, I found the songs sounded somewhat generic. I didn't realize how much of a signature sound that was behind Siouxsie's voice and how much I would miss it until after it was gone.
