Yeah. That! Anyone that thinks that Kiss doesn't belong into the "Rock n Roll Hall of Fame" is a fool and just needs to look beyond the make up and take a look at the whole package! They are going strong since 40 years, have millions of fans around the world and influenced generations of musicians worldwide. They are certainly more influential than several of the other acts, who made it into the hall of fame.

Geez. The man has 26 albums under his belt. There is plenty of great music that merits his inclusion into the hall of fame on that basis too.

No. It's only 22 years. I find their inclusion on the first year of eligibility more questionable especially when considering how long it took Kiss to get in. They should have waited until the 25th anniversary of Nevermind. Who cares about Bleach?

Courtney should not even be allowed to attend - IMO.

If Fame isn't part of the RRHOF criteria, then it's not a Hall of Fame.

Fame is relative. HOFers can make it in on the strength of one iconic song. Others can get in for a short-but-iconic artistic run. Others for mega-commercial success. Others, because their influence and status as beloved artists overcame their lack of sales or popularity in their day.

I fail to see how KISS isn't worthy, because of their commercial success and influence as rock and roll showmen. KISS didn't make a Sgt. Pepper, or break new musical ground, but you can't tell the story of rock without them. They were probably the biggest act of an Arena Rock era that looms large over rock history (for good or ill).

I loved KISS as a kid, rarely listen to their music now, but I think their ticket should be punched.

I'm happiest for Hall and Oates and Peter Gabriel. Nirvana was a done deal years ago, but the sight of them going in will be interesting.

I wonder which members of KISS are going to attend. I think Gene has called Ace a nazi-sympathizer, or something along those lines, and they're not in speaking terms. Some of those guys from the 1980s have served the band longer than what the original line-up was together.

The RNRHOF loses credibility every year because they HAVE to include new members every year. It's mandated. But what happens when you run out of worthy people? Obviously you have to start lowering the bar. If they actually cared about true merit they'd announce a moratorium for five years, then start up again every two years. If they keep inducting new people every year then they're gonna have to scrape the barrel dry. Seems like they're already getting there (Madonna was inducted a few years ago).

I agree Joe. Linda is awesome. It's sad that she's so ill, but hopefully she will attend and sing her ass off.

That´s why most KISS album covers in Germany had a different looking KISS logo, at least in the 70s and 80s when they were first released. My teacher hated KISS because of their logo. Little did he know that Gene Simmons is Jewish.

I think the Nazi SS "SS" of their logo was just a cheap provocation, nothing more. Especially when you consider that Gene Simmons is Jewish, so if he had any problems with the use of "SS" he would´ve said so decades ago.

The "nazi sympathizer", or whatever Gene called Ace exactly, was because Ace apparently collects World War II memorabilia and did some sort of a drunken nazi salute in front of Gene.

Might be that I don't remember it correctly (too lazy to google it at the moment). I sort of know the type though and have never found that shit funny either.
