Nice read. Thanks for posting. I didn't know that SIM charted so low in US. Never understood how YANA could have been so much more successful. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

YANA had that "sound", the R.Kelly, Babyface-esque prom closing slow jam beat. The timing was perfect for the release. I remember playing that CD Single OUTTT it also had some great remixes including Scream Louder, a Frankie Knuckles mix, and the MJ Megamix on it.
Stranger In Moscow was more of a novelty tune whereas YANA was easier for folks to relate to as many of us "miss" people for many reasons, not many of us feel bitter isolation whilst enduring fame in foreign cities.

It was just 30 years ago, at age 25, Michael was THE youngest recording artist to ever received such honor at the AMA:

Yes, mainstream culture always finds it easier to digest a love song than a song with a deeper meaning. Stranger In Moscow, was popular in Europe because it's very much an existentalist song. It's one of the best songs he ever wrote and composed. When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace -Jimi Hendrix

A rare picture of Michael with his grandfather, Joe's father.

Justin Bieber Speaks Out After Arrest, Compares Himself To Michael JacksonSee the black and white side-by-side Justin posted on Instagram.
One day after making headlines for getting arrested in Miami, Justin Bieber is addressing his police troubles with an Instagram photo in which he references both Michael Jackson and Jay Z. On Friday, the 19-year-old posted a side-by-side of himself leaving police custody in Miami riding on the top of an SUV and that of Jackson, also on the top of a car, outside a Santa Monica courthouse after he pleaded not guilty to child-molestation charges.
Under the photos, he quoted a Jay Z lyric from 2003's The Black Album, "What More Can I Say." "What more can they say," he wrote in reference to Jay. The Instagram marks the first time Bieber has publically addressed his arrest Thursday morning when he was taken into police custody on suspicion of DUI, resisting arrest nonviolently and driving on an expired license. He was later released on $2,500 bail. Prior to the Instagram, Bieber's inner circle has already commented on Thursday's arrest, including manager Scooter Braun, as well as his father, Jeremy Bieber. Both of them offered their support to the pop star during the scandal. "I can protect my kids, but I can't protect them from you and your lies. Believe in the truth not in the lies of the enemy. #reallife," he wrote, referencing a report that suggested he was with Bieber when he was arrested. Regardless of whether or not he was, Jeremy had been spotted in Miami with Bieber prior to the incident, during which he was drag racing down the streets of Miami. Braun tweeted, "@justinbieber love you and i will act in the manner of someone who truly cares. that is all I have to say. thanks for all those http://www.mtv.com/news/a...kson.jhtml

The Justin Beiber situation actually saddens me. He is still only a teanager and is already taking Xanax. How is his story going to end? I fear not well.
Love the single siquined, black glove. Never caught on like the white one, maybe MJ should have worn it more

I remember a forum member here once said in 2008/2009 he bought this forgery (and thought it was authentic), so I'm posting this here as well:
Does anyone here know WHO bought the following FAKE and what the name of the SCAMMER (=the seller, not the buyer) is? [Edited 1/31/14 9:26am]
