Hell, you know how many brothers done been in that Kardashian? Point taken. Appearance is the first step in a interview/business partnership. Experience in the desired field is VERY important. Mental clarity helps as well.

Did Kanye every take class in fashion design, illustration, marketing, etc.? He dresses everyday like a bum. For a well established fashion brand to partner with him would be a mistake. He's a ticking time bomb. He has the money to start his brand and distribute it. Goodness know that most of the popular urban brands started out making tee-shirts, sweat pants, caps, etc. He doesn't know fashion and Kim,...poor thing has just lost her own fashion sense listening to 'her man'.

He has the money to just pay an up and coming fashion design graduate to draw and sew his ideas and pay a sweat shop to make and sell it on the Kanye website. Stop Bitchin'! Its unattractive and embarrasing.

He doesn't seem a very happy chappie in these interviews, despite all his money and fame, does he? Not much fun to interview, either, I'd imagine - given that it would seem you have to keep tiptoeing around on eggshells, smooching his ass at regular intervals and reassuring him that you're 100% on his side, to avoid a tantrum.

Couple of other things I notice:
- A lot of the time, when answering, his head turns off to the side, away from the interviewer. It all becomes one big dialogue with himself - like some kind of on-air therapy session in which the interviewer's just supplying prompts for him to run away with and rant about.

- There's some kind of hangup with Tupac, whose shadow seems to loom intimidatingly over him. I seem to recall in Jimmy Kimmel's description of the angry phone call he got, Kanye had apparently been shouting something like, "I am 'Pac!" In this one, he comes back again to it, now humbled, saying something about Tupac being the iconic rapper no-one can surpass. It's all a bit like some Freudian hangup about a dauntingly overbearing father that blocks you from getting where you want to be, and who you sometimes fantasise about killing and taking his place!

Kanye raps (and all his raps sound the same.) He can't sing, can't dance, has a big mouth, is arrogant and rich. A typical example of what our dysfunctional "culture" idolizes. God forbid America/Hollywood idolize a "star" with class, intelligence, morals, values and a focus-driven mindset. Obama had it right years ago when he called (Kanye) an "ass." If everyone didn't buy his next two or three albums and they were certified "flops," Mr. "I'm Shakespeare in da FLESH!" would be "Shakespeare at the soup kitchen 4 dinner" when it opens.

There's always some truth in his self-indulgent rants. People selectively pigeonhold artists when they are popular for doing one thing by telling them they can't do something else. A great composer could also be a great director but industries prevent the crossing over with ease.

Clothing lines need backing. Business 101: don't use your own money. He doesn't want to go down the same road as other designers have and end up in urbanland. If someone won't let you in the front door; go through the side door. He should design his line under another name and let someone else be the face until after the deal is struck and its too late. I think he gets caught up in the processes and loses the bigger picture sometimes.

Yeah, there's something going on with the guy. He seems to have a lot of frustration and, to me, there seems to be an unhealthy sense of entitlement in there that's not doing him any favours. He's keen to present that as a valiant struggle against collective disentitlement, but I don't really buy the idea that Kanye getting a lucrative contract to design clothes is good for anyone but Kanye, just as I don't buy the notion that Jay-Z's presence is charity. The slavery metaphor was stretched a bit thin when Prince was using it to protest his multi-million-dollar recording contract, but it's surely beyond breaking point when it's applied by a millionaire rapper/producer/fashionista to a grumble that his dabblings in another creative industry have not been lauded as epoch-changing art!

Perhaps that's too harsh. There's obviously something that's been historically important and inspirational about Black talent succeeding against the obstacles - particularly in domains where that wasn't expected or allowed. But, increasingly, I interpret that framing of things by entertainers who are bona fide members of 'the 1%' - and enjoy a lifestyle that goes with that - as a self-serving way of adding some lofty meaning to what is, essentially, their amassing of considerable private wealth and privilege, which does little to change the structures that mean certain groups of people are systematically held back.

P.S. I interpreted the freestyle bit as him being a bit awkward and kind of half-refusing to comply with the request, whilst half going along with it. But maybe his brain's so filled with genius colour palettes and new Yeezys he's forgotten the basics!

Agreed. However, I believe he doesn't have the discipline, let alone the humility, in order to put out a line of clothing. You have to be honest with yourself and say that maybe putting 40,000 leather jogging pants on the market might not be a great idea, but perhaps an artistic version that may need to be scaled back to 400 pairs. You have to have a vision, but you have to understand the market.

These rampages he throws out in the public will not entice the 1% to help him. The 1% want a more stable relationship, somebody that projects passion or a drive for what they want to do in business with the tact of a politician. All things KW is not.

Why Sway just didn't punch that guy for talking down to him I'll never know why.

The old rule that any exposure or news whether it be bad or good is good for business. Is not the case at all, bad news can and will ruin the brand Kanye.

He addresses lots of good points sometimes in interviews. But he is not a ''slave'' he is one of the most successful, rich, award winning etc. Artists of my generation!

I was all for yeezy back in 2010 with his MFBTF era. He shut the fuck up, let the music do the talking, and wrote a modern classic.

In between he made easy to digest top 40 songs, made an album that was supposed to be ''non mainstream'', then whores out his songs for anyone that wants them.
