Updated: Britney's New Single + Video, "Work Bitch"

September 10, 2013

Link

After many rumors and much speculation, Britney Spears has officially confirmed that the title of her new single is "Work B***h," and has announced via Twitter that it'll make its radio debut September 16 at 6 p.m.

The single will go on sale at iTunes one minute after midnight, September 17. That same morning, Brit will make an appearance on ABC's Good Morning America for a big announcement. The countdown clock that was launched on her website last month will hit zero on that very day, and rumor has it that the announcement could concern her upcoming Las Vegas residency, which has never actually been confirmed.

"Work B***h" is rumored to contain a sample of "Supermodel (You Better Work)," a single by singer and drag queen RuPaul. Britney has been tweeting about spending three "EPIC" days filming the video for the song in some unnamed desert location.

mad

first...never a fan or liked her songs.

I clicked on this to respond just to the title. The use of profanity in Pop music needs to come to a stop. Can anyone ever write a decent Mainstream Pop song without any use of profanity! confuse

I don't care if I never hear this tune, (even though I'm sure it will find me), however this SHIT needs to stop! wink

Now, now--you're assuming the asterisks stand for something they might not stand for. Maybe this is just a song about the people who share a shift down at the local grocery store--the "Work Bunch." Or about how much work she has to get done before she can call it a day--"Work Batch." Or maybe about how she makes a really great soup, and it all starts with having the right beef base, and she really knows how to "Work Broth."

Or maybe it's about how much she hates working--"Work Blech!!!"

Or about how she always wanted to style hair for a living--"Work Brush." Or maybe paint houses.

The fact that you immediately assumed something crude just says something about you, I think. lol

Attention seeker title that will hamper commercial success so the fans will have an excuse why she won't hold a candle to Katy or Gaga on the charts.

I also wonder whether William Orbit would associate himself with a song titled like that. It is likely it's a collaboration with Free School like Madonna's "Love Spent".

As I mentioned in my post, William Orbit has been long rumored due to random facebook posts and tweets and Jean-Baptiste (of Free School) made comments about it on Twitter lately.

She is so healthy and fit that the body double and the stunt person that were hired to sub in her for on certain shots have been sitting on the sidelines during the entire shoot! She is doing all her own work, and she is performing like she did during her peak..."

I won't get my hopes up; her recent singles have been nothing but the usual tired, by-the-numbers foray into electronic dance music. I will be stunned if she takes a different direction.

Yeah it is will.i.am and a Swedish House Mafia member. I wonder if they originally planned a different song for a lead-off single or William Orbit just talked about one song he contributed to the album. I believe Britney herself did confim Orbit's involvement.

Sebastian Ingrosso Brings His Swedish House Mafia Swagger to Brit's Latest

09.12.13
Link

We, as a society, are now four days away from the release of Britney Spears' new single "Work Bitch," and we, the pop queen's loyal subjects, have been bestowed with some more details surrounding the track.

On Wednesday night (Sept. 11), Spears revealed the song's five co-writers who worked on "Work Bitch" with her through Instagram, and less than 24 hours later, she unleashed the glitzy single artwork on Twitter.

The flashiest writing credit, of course, belongs to Sebastian Ingrosso, the Swedish DJ/producer best known as one-third of the now-defunct EDM trio Swedish House Mafia; his presence in the liner notes suggests that "Work Bitch" will be a dance floor scorcher.

William Adams -- better known as Will.i.am -- is also a co-writer, which is expected since he is executive-producing Spear's next album. Otto Jettman, a.k.a. Swedish house DJ Otto Knows, is also on board, as is Irish producer/songwriter Ruth-Anne Cunningham. Last but not least is Anthony Preston, who has worked closely with Will.i.am as well as with artists like Nicole Scherzinger and Afrojack.

Interestingly, the single artwork for "Work Bitch" features Spears in a feathery blue outfit, leaning on a desk that includes a miniaturized Las Vegas sign. If an announcement about Spears' long-rumored Las Vegas residency is indeed impending, this photo is darn good evidence.

"Work Bitch" will make its premiere on iHeartRadio on Monday (Sept. 16) at 6:00 pm ET, and will hit iTunes six hours and one minute later. It may (or may not) (but probably) be the first single from Spears' eighth album, which will follow 2011's "Femme Fatale."

I'm getting the impression that Britney got her mojo back. In my opinion she was at the time of her game during Slave for you. That shit was hot and her choreogrpahy was great. She had a banging body too. I'm routing for her. I hope this album doesn't sound like the last one though. Over produced and totally uninspired and I'm a bit disappointed that Will.I.Am produced the first single but I'll give it a listen. Go Brit!
