Taking to Twitter the “Fine China” singer revealed that ‘The Chris Brown Story’ will be directed by John Singleton, whose body of work comprises Boyz n the Hood and Poetic Justice and is “coming soon”.

Since launching his singing career back in 2005 with his smash hit single “Run It! (feat. Juelz Santana)” the singer’s life has experienced both highs and lows and has been a well documented journey in itself.

John Singleton is directing "THE CHRIS BROWN STORY" (MOVIE COMING SOON)!!!!! We On!

Chris Brown is also gearing up for the release of his sixth studio album “X” which is expected to arrive by the end of the year.

I doubt this goes any further than the discussion stages.

Remember Marvin Gaye and Richard Pryor Biopics. They've been in discussion since the 80s.

It's about time he releases his own biopic given his abundant achievements at such a young age. Young, talented, fresh, original, groundbreaking, and innovative. I can hardly wait. Haters gonna hate...GO CHRIS! Oh, and a briliant career move by Singleton...kudos to him.

Is everybody wet?

I can't imagine this making it to movie theaters. Maybe a TV movie at best.

Do you guys think its going to be more of a docu-film similar to Katy Perry: Part of Me, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, One Direction: This Is Us?

ohgoon They said there was going to a movie about Tupac and Biggie's death investigations too but that never saw the light of day...why in the hell would this movie make it past the green light? More importantly, Chris's career hasn't even hit the 10 year marker yet, who's bright idea was this?

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Marvin doesn't get one because the estate basically blocks it (if you can't use the music, what's the point?).

This could be interesting. I know he witnessed abuse as a child, who knows what else happened.

This dude is already so full of himself. Why feed his ego and give him his own biopic? It's not as if his story is all that interesting anyway.Basically,he is just a young artist who screwed up and turned himself into a tabloid celebrity.Nothing interesting about that.

They better get a Rihanna who's ready to be bitchslapped over and over and still love his biopiced ass.

I mean, c'mon.. MJ & Prince, Marvin Gaye, Little Richard.. all these folks don't get a biography film and this talentless chap gets one.. How old is he anyway and can anybody mention one decent song by him that's bearable?

Maybe it's for tv? Fantasia's story was for tv, and she played herself in her tv movie.

Someone is using controversy to sell his story. Looking for ratings from the RiRi DV incident, and fallout.

I like his graffitti art, & dancing, but singing? No, too much of a nasal sound.
