Nas = the best

I wanted to start this thread of with mentioning Nas. Besides Emenim, Nas is one of the greatest rappers of all time. The reason why I say this is because, I really believed he has evovled from commercail rap to postive rap with a message... Yeah there's a alot of contraidiction in his music, but I really feel as if he believes in rap what raps about, the only thing I didn't like is the fact that Nas signed a deal with Murder Inc. I think he's to much of a talent rapper to be surrounding around a bunch of money hungry none rapping bathunes nod ... If Nas was wise as he raps I would say change his label. And to any nay sayers of hip-hop/ rap music, I would say pick up the album illmatic and please tell if you opinnon is the same about rap music. We mind as face the music, rap ain't going no where, it's here to stay as well as Nas and his music nod

Essence

Nas' place in hip-hop history is assured for Illmatic alone. Crazy the way he gets painted in bad light in recent years. He is NO Ja Rule...

if the Cat Ever Stayed Focused long enough He could be the Rakim of His Era IMHO.Nas has everything that Eminem&Jay Z wished they had&He has the fire of 2Pac&Coolness of Biggie all rolled into one but the cat just doesn't stay in the Pocket.

Yeah... he seems unstable, he's got the talent, he's awesome, but he's not channeling it to its full potential. I totally agree.
Oh shit, my hat done fell off

I always liked Nas, when he had that thing with Jay-Z, I leaned more towards Nas' side, only because his rhymes are more poetic, something a little more deeper, and I like that...

For some reason, I've never been able to get into Nas. I love his subject matter, but his voice, his flow and -- especially -- his live performance just leave me cold.

I'll try to listen to him some more.
