How would you rate Natalie Cole as a singer? I think she is great with jazz and light pop, nothing too heavy rnbish, though. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I think she has shown she can do it all R&B,Soul,Jazz,Pop......I would rate here up there with Aretha,Patti and i say she proved her self to be a powerhouse because in her day she could not be touched she was turning out HITS and her LIVE SHOWS were THE DEAL PLEASE BELIEVE!!!

Even her Capital catalog had some really good jazz material.

Go get a copy of "Natalie Live!" and be blown away.
First four albums too, but "Natalie Live!" will tell you everything you need to know. There's a reason she was talked about as being the next Queen of Soul after Aretha.
Whether that voice has held up, I don't know, as she doesn't really sing that raw R&B/soul style anymore. But, she was an incredible soul singer.

Yes, definately a fine singer. But, IMO, she definately has more of a flare for R&B, as proven on her early 70's albums. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
