Mark Wahlberg & Music: Marky Mark May Reunite With Funky Bunch

Mark Wahlberg may return to music.

Mark Wahlberg may be known as a big-time actor now, but it's hard to forget his '90s hip-hop roots.

Wahlberg made an early mark with his group, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. The group released two studio albums and various hit singles, including 1991's "Good Vibrations." While Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch disbanded in 1993, there may be hope for a reunion.

Wahlberg seems to have changed his tune about the idea of a Funky Bunch reunion. While he told Moviefone in 2012 that music was totally done for him, a recent interview with the UK's Heat magazine hinted he may be more open to a return to music.

"Well, the Funky Bunch wants to get back out there," Wahlberg told Heat magazine. "I've just got to find the right time. We might, though."

He also questioned whether the return of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch would be "lucrative."

Wahlberg recently starred in the drama film, "Broken City" and appears in "Pain & Gain" with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Do you suppose he values his music nominations as much as his movie nominations? If he did return to music - what do you think? Fan of his music or his movies?

Lol, I for one would love to see this happen. That would be fun. Then maybe he can finally open for NKOTB on their next tour. Nice to see him finally embracing his past.

I have both of the Funky Bunch's albums, but I've never really followed Mark's acting career. The only movie I've seen was the remake of Charade called The Truth About Charlie. The only reason I saw that is because Charade is one of my favorite movies and was just curious to see what they did with it. I rarely watch modern movies in general, so it doesn't really have anything to do with Mark per se. I like watching Jimmy Stewart era movies. If the Funky Bunch does get together, I wonder if Free would be involved, but the 2 female members were gone by the 2nd album.

Now that I think about it, I think Marky Mark was in a movie with Andre 3000 that I saw once, but don't recall the name.

Yeah, that's it. If I go to a movie with someone, they always pick it. Most of the time it's not something I would have seen on my own, so I forget about it.
