BET Awards (early start)

I can give two poots fart about the BET Awards aka EBT Awards. But you know what? The best part of forcing myself to sit through that horrid ceremony is logging into the Org and reading you guys commentary. Who's game? Come on...you ain't got shit else to do.

Thank You San Alejo for getting rid of my enemies. :-0
Thank You SO much Saint Expedite for your help smile
Thank You Virgin de Guadalupe for helping my friend smile
Thank You Saint Anthony for returning my wallet to me untouched smile

The only part I care about is the Lifetime Acheivement segment. This years honoree is Charlie Wilson, so I'm looking foward to that and hopefully it's good.

No disrespect to Charlie Wilson but Parliament Funakdelic is long overdue for the Lifetime Achievement Award. I dig Charlie's music but as a live performer, his performances put me to sleep.

spit I didn't even realize it was coming on tonight. I guess that's just how disinterested I am in it. Isn't Chris Tucker hosting it? I don't know, I guess I'll catch some parts of it. Honestly, the thread on here with folks commenting is much more interesting than actually watching it. popcorn

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I'm looking at it too. There is a lack of energy and a lot of awkward moments to fill.

And what the hell was that Mariah/Jezzy performance? And why was Mariah lipsynching?!!!

See, I missed that. But I saw Rebbie's youngest son, and Megan Good's boob dress, and the Real Husbands of Hollywood act a fool.

I agree. That R. Kelly performance was really awkward to me. I mean a 30 minute intro only to to sing 10 words of his greatest hits and then say "That's all my time." lol

Tuned in to see my sweetheart Mariah Carey perform, and all I can say is....WTF!?!? omg She started out singing acapella hitting her high whistle notes, but then proceeded to lip sync the rest of her performance. rolleyes sigh disbelief And then she had some rapper on one of the verses. My god, when will she learn to give up this crap?

I am so glad Prince didn't allow Jamie Foxx to come near his BET Lifetime Achievement Award and perform. Of course, Trey Songz felt jealous of Patti, Esperanza, Alicia and Janelle and had to bogart but watching this tribute to Charlie Wilson once again highlights the corniness of acts like Timberlake and Foxx.

BTW, it's official, D'angelo and Questlove are no longer the biggest Prince dickriders. It's officially Miguel. The Prince inspired slides and the running and sliding to the edge of the stage sealed it. It was like Miguel was giving the finger to those who thinks the leg drop at the BBMA will define his career.

I think Mariah lipsanc ALL her performance!

Best performance: I like Robin Thicke and Kendrick Lemar with Erykah Badu.

Sexiest? Damn him Justin Timberlake!

Stevie was good too.

Charlie's performance did start good, but umm... This has now slipped into another shitty hip hop/R&B takever. If you don't have anything to do with the song, sit the fuck down!

The only thing I really paid attention to was the Charlie Wilson tribute...Stevie Wonder was the best part of that because the damn rappers and Timberlake were up there with Charlie. Why do they have to interject rappers into every damn thing?

I didn't know Kevin Hart was that teensy... eek

You would think with all the corporate sponsors they keep shouting out the production wouldn't be so shoddy and cheap looking.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Nice gospel song selection and the reggae segment was really great. Not enough love for reggae these days.

I thought this year was pretty good. I LOVED Uncle Charlie... THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT! JT did good too. The gospel song was AMAZING! But yeah... too many damn rappers (even though I don't mind Kendrick Lamar.. he's the only one I like)

I have to say that Janelle Monae did a good job. She was the best performance, and looks like she stepped up her game a bit.

The Reggae performance was overshadowed by too much shouting. They were definitely missing Sean Paul.

I enjoyed the show over all! The highlights for me were Robin Thicke doing Blurred Lines, the Charlie Wilson segment and the Reggae artists. Janelle Monae was more tolerable to me because she seemed less over the top. I really hate watching her dance. She tries way too hard but tonight wasn't bad.

Miguel wants to be Prince so badly. I see he's still jumping all over the stage lol. Atleast he didn't harm anyone this time.

Oh and what the hell is up with Mimi?? Why does she always lipsync now?? sad

Charlie Wilson was outstanding.

Big shout out to Janelle. She was on point.

Paula Patton was "dancing with Molly" or something.

Kevin Hart's tweets were funnier than Chris Tucker's whole routine.

The whole time Miguel was performing, the only thing I could think was "I wonder who's minding Nazanin?"

Erykah's booty >>>>>>

I wonder how much it costs to get Ciara to strip...I mean "perform" in my city?

Its good to see Stevie under any circumstance.

Two words I don't want to hear next year: Ratchet and Turned up.
