Aretha Franklin ordered to cancel dates by doctors for treatment According to her publicist, Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin will be undergoing medical treatment that will force her to cancel dates in Chicago and Connecticut later this month. As with her first health scare for a an undisclosed tumor that was removed in 2010, the press release said no more. Franklin was the headliner at McDonald's Gospel Fest in Newark, NJ on Saturday night with Cissy Houston and others.
