It's one thing to take the piss out of Madonna for lip-syncing. But for using theatrics?!? . David Bowie (a person Madonna has copied) use theatrics many times during the 1970's. And yet, some Madonna-haters want to pretend that theatrics are not useful? . I hate double standards. its not just theatrics. Madonna is a performance artist everything is done for a reason. She doesn't want to just stand and sing she wants to make statements and call attention to issues at hand. Starting with the calling out of Regan and Pope John Paul for being silent about about HIV on the Who's That Girl Tour to todays issues. sure alot of the stuff looks over the top to some but look at the passion segment of Blond Ambition where she compares sexual and religious estascy and the comes to terms with her role on the Catholic Church and calls it out on sex abuse and misgogny. Also I believe Madonna was the first artist to not only hve openly gay dancers but played it up in the show to help end the stigma of HIV and further LGBT rights. The Girlie Shoe is all about the power of sex/love the opening and then in the disco section she had an orgy on stage before everyone walked off into the blight before her AIDS tribute and the Beast Within was comparing the struggle of gay men to jesus. drowned world was the elements and a little plea of unity. ReInvention was about tearing down our differences and protesting the war. Confessions talked alot of how religion plays a negative roll in life. sticky and sweet doesn't really say anything other than lets party and the MDNA was about not letting the world tear you down. she provides an experience. And she goes to further than anyone most anyone else when challenging herself. Every song is rerannaged, not all always a good thing she's had a few that killed the song, she does all new set lists, and choreography and costumes and always brings the the newest technology on tour when you consider in her 30 years she has only not sold out 2 shows and since her return to touring she has grossed over 1 1/2 Billion dollars in concert tickets alone clearly alot of people enjoy what she does. it takes alot of talent to put the show and everyone who works on it together and ensure it will be a success. It may not be your cup of tea but its not a sign of lack of talent. . and Madonna normally may only lyp sync one or two songs on a tour. But her sound man does chmage the levels to correct with prerecorded if she is having a rough night You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

The first part of the show is dark and "scary" at times "Papa Don't Preach" was an odd choice for that particular segment and I don't think it worked.Same with "Hung Up". papa don't preach and hung up work on the context its about struggling through failed marriage. Her family wasn't thrilled with guy, and it takes awhile to get over it. The arrangemt for hung up I thought was brillant You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

Kylie is great and all, but having seen her live a couple of times, I dont get all the raving about her voice. She doesnt move first off. She walks from one side of the stage to the other - and then back again, and repeats this several times over. Her voice is well pitched in concert because she never does anything to get winded. More than that she only sings in her higher register and falsetto for the higher notes - she doesnt actually have that great a range. im not saying Madonna or Janet do, but they are very different performers in that they actually dance too. Kylie is a crowd pleaser nothing more - she'll sing the hits - camp it up, and take the cash and applause. Madonna does what the hell she pleases (apart from the Live Nation contractual performances of Vogue & Like A Prayer). She takes her live shows to another level when it comes to creative input and artistry. | |

I saw the MDNA show three times. Twice in LA and once at Yankee Stadium. Some friends that work for the queen got us bracelets for the golden triangle at Yankee Stadium, and, although it was very cool to be that close to Madge--seeing her dance that close up is amazing, seeing her yell at some dude on the crew to wipe the water on floor or she'd "fall on her ass," or when she stopped and took off her boot and pulled off what appeared to be a scab of her foot--all that was priceless, BUT, you miss the overall experience. There's so much shit going on, that you miss most of it, being that close. And the incredible video footage is completely lost that close up.
The best shows were when we were on the floor toward the back, at Staples, sure she was tiny, but we saw the overall spectacle and that was one hundred times better for me. My husband hated being that far back. I think she just wanted to be in the triangle again. Me too. I saw her in Houston Texas and had nose bleeds. I remember that group that sings "pump up the jam," opened.
