People are angry and they dont even know why they are angry. First reason is they think YOUTUBE is getting the cash, nope not whats happening. WHAT IS happening is, you know WE ALL on this site, give props and praise to people going indie and selling their stuff on their own without a label. THATS WHAT THIS IS, so stop the double standard. VIMEO set up the same option so Youtube is trying to compete. Whats happening is that indie artists, filmmakers, models, actors, etc....are tired of going to labels or dont wanna go that route, they feel that they have their own following and they want to sell directly to people. Put it like this, some kid gets a kickstarter film done, has no money but wants to show it, has the followers so he pays a small fee to Youtube or Vimeo, kind of like a movie theatre, and shows it there on his channel, but viewers have to pay to get in, just like a theatre, u know when u drop 13 dollars to see Iron Man 3 or whatever film, well now these chances are gonna be for everyone to do and compete. This is something that HAS to be done, for all you crying over this, it has nothing NOTHING to do with you watching some old crappy Rick James videos or whatever, that shit is still going to be, this is set up for the indie people, U KNOW the ones we champion on this site, well you cant live if you give all your stuff out for free and pay to make it too, free-bee days are winding down folks get used to it

lol No, I'm not.

To be fair. I guess the thing about Tube it means different things to different people. There some changes Goggle has made in the past two years that I'm not all that crazy about. You-Tube started a an open community for people to share whatever: I miss those days but I knew when those bastards at Google got their hands on the Tube they would narrow its focus for their gain. Fine, my only protest is not to reward them with anymore cash than I have to. As I said befo', I'm not paying for a damn thang.

Reasons why I will be saying finger to Google/Youtube and their upcoming "subscription option":

.

1. Dailymotion

2. USTREAM

3. Metacafe

.

And there will be other YouTube alternatives waiting in the wings. wink

No. As far as I know, no one has yet requested that the site add [video] to their thing when we can embed anything... you can only do so much in this board I guess.

I'm relatively certain YouTube has never made money.

Do you think Youtube should continue to burn through Google's cash so that you can watch videos for free, or is it fair that YouTube is trying to figure out how to actually make money?

people need to just come clean with their Bullshit. They want shit for free, they dont want to pay for anything, they feel because the technology allows you to take stuff, it should always be free to take watch stream jerk off too whatever. Sorry folks you want changes, they come in good ways and bad ways, and sometimes its just not what you want. You arent going to HAVE to pay, read what they are doing, this is not set up so everything is a fee like you are buying shit. But like i said countless times to morons who think that "indie" artists can make a living by handing shit out, they cant. This is now their alternative, this is set for them, VIMEO already has this going, different forms of the membership you can buy, so basically if your a singer and you have a small following but dont want to go to a label, step to Vimeo or now Youtube and by a spot and then utilize it as a business for yourselves, These indie arists are not wealthy, sorry folks, it costs money to record, to get a studio to play shows whatever, and for filmmakers how do you think they make films? everyone works for free? be real, if tomorrow you went to work and they said "Oh we arent gonna pay you no more sorry", be real people, admit it, YOU DONT WANT TO PAY FOR ANYTHING, stop the argument, that music is shit and i dont wanna pay, OK dont pay, but dont bitch that isnt for FREE what kind of nonsense bullshit is that.

alot of these sites are in trouble though. Recently i have been hearing that certain sites that "leak cds" were now being given viruses purposely on these new release files so that people would get them too, and then use the "virus" to discourage them from downloading, and its working alot, FILSETUBE and a site called Newalbums.net have been loaded with viruses lately, so if anyone hear goes there, get ready to shell out alot of cash.

Wow the one-hit wonder joke thats a new one, thats as overplayed as "Oh the new D'angelo cd is coming out thread" that starts every other month on this forum, like the guy still has a career or had one.

Until now, I've never heard of FILSETUBE. That alone tells me the site isn't doing so good anyway because it's not popular. lol

.

At least I know Dailymotion exist. This site has been the pepsi to YouTube's coke for years now.

.

Remember Megavideos? At one time they were suppose to be the next big thing, including paying uploaders after their videos received a certain number of views. The last time I checked, Megavideos shut down a few years ago. Most likely they weren't good enough to complete with YouTube at all.

Filestube isnt a site its what "holds" all the files that most music sites that have downloads (illegal) on, and i have seen a huge rise in viruses, people reporting them, and also, alot of new stuff isnt leaking like before if it all.

I agree with most of what you're saying on this thread but the D'angelo hate is hurtful and frankly uncalled for! You couldn't pick on Timberlake or Chris instead?
