Would Macy Gray be considered neo soul?

I know she came out during the same time period, but not sure I would lump her into that category. Your thoughts?

EMPEROR101

Because of the way she was Marketed i'd call her "POP" in the same way Nikka Costa was once promoted.

her first album, yes, i'd put that in there with all the other really good

stuff that came out during that time and was labeled 'neo soul'.

no, the album doesn't really fit that mood like a glove but it's close

enough for me.

anything she did after that was all downhill. but her first album still

holds up very well.
