Its easy to scapegoat Jay-Z but the American government is to blame for sanction and the embargo on Cuba while while maintaining such a relationship with communist China.
Jay is a rich capitalist but the U.S. is part of the reason Cuba is in the state its in. Tell Phil Lord to write them a letter first, since they actually have the power to make change instead of trying to get some Hollywood "street cred" for going after Jay-Z.
I agree but Jay Z has some fault in it as well.
He made a big ass deal about going to Cuba to the media and all the media did was exploit it. He got mad at the criticism and made a dumb song about it. Thats HIS fault and if he doesnt want people criticizing him than he should keep his business to himself
I actually agree with you both...and will edit this post the Org just swallowed up later.

I was thinking of mjcarousal and blaqueknight when I remembered this very cool documentary on Cuba by Dr. Henry Lousis Gates, Jr., Chair of African American Studies at Harvard. From my time living in Miamii I have very mixed feelings about Cuban Floridians and the Castro issue (whixh is another story for another day at the P&R forum). But I thought y'all might find this interesting, it gives a crash course on the low down of what really happened in Cuba, and makes all the yakking that takes place among the Cuban power elites in Florida amount to, well ...everyone should just judge for themselves...
