Q sat with Billboard for an exclusive Q&A in honor of his 80th(!) birthday.
In the clip he reflects on his long, storied career, working with the likes of MJ and Ray Charles, music industry changes and new projects he’s excited about coming up.

It was good to see Q in a little bit of his professorial role.
He sure is a big name dropping mafucka though
Nah, seriously....Q had the career that most musican's would die for. Those names are apart of his his work history, I can dig it. The man has wisdom to share as long as he's not trying to be "hip" by praising a lot of these mediocre acts that's out today. Uncle Q is presently working with the young women of Blush, a multicultural supergroup. He has signed on to executive produce their album. During the interview, he briefly talks about the project. | |

Waaaaay overdue! Is Mellow Madness on CD at all, outside Japan? I had to get a pricey import. I'm pretty glad I did, though. It might be my favourite of those you've named. And I Heard That isn't on CD at all, right? THAT, I want. At least Blam!! by the Brothers Johnson got reissued again not too long ago. I love Q's R&B/early pop phase up to about '83.  | |

Do the Brothers Johnson appear on the instrumental ''Midnight Soul Patrol'' (from I Heard That)? I know George Johnson contributed vocals to and co-wrote "Is it Love That We're Missing?" on the same album. | |

MJJC is looneytuneville............... but they are within their rights to feel whatever kind of way they want about Q.
I respect Q (the musician) lets not get that twisted. He is a LEGEND.
HOWEVER
He is phooney and VERY fake. The fact that he is a legend does not change that.

You mean like saying things such as "nobody heard of Quincy before he worked with Mike, nor did Q do anything of importance after Mike 'fired' him after Bad" or "Quincy didn't do anything but bring in the musicians and a few songs, he just stuck his name on Mike's albums as the producer". If I'm honest, as strong as Michael was in overcoming (at least in part) Quincy's dominant style, to me, OTW and Thriller still sound more like Quincy albums (like those he did for Rufus, James Ingram and Donna Summer) than Michael ones. Bad was a different story, though. Those fans you mention obviously haven't looked at the list of personnel for the Quincy albums... from Bruce and Rod to John Bettis and Patti Austin, they were almost all Q associates of some kind of another. And without the right musicians, a great album sort of doesn't get made. | |

Nice comeback
HOWEVER
Like I said.... I have mad respect for Q the MUSICIAN... and Ive already pointed out MJJC are looney when it comes down to alot of things. In terms of Q's MUSIC LEGACY that is one example
BUT in terms of HIS CHRACTER and the way he shitted on MJ after he passed they are RIGHT.
There is nothing you can say to defend that.
I am not holding that against him but I am not going to sit up here and act like he is a sweet wholesome old man and he isnt. He calls MJ is friend but backstabbed him
I would not trust ANYTHING this man has to say about ANY artist at this stage in his life.
