Not sure if it's true, but I read that once when Jesse Johnson started a few chops on his guitar during an audition for The Time, Prince quickly cut him of by shouting "That's enough! You're hired!". But that was back then. Some other quotes describe that Jesse was immediatey hired by Prince seeing Johnson's outfit.

I experienced some sort of Joel-moment during a concert of keyboarist George Duke. George actually asked if there were any keyboardists in the audience. Some cool soloists took the stage, with one in particular which had George and his band turn their heads and check what great lines that soloist was laying out lol.

This clip is intense! Someone being able to get that kind of moment with their musical idol because they take a cocky chance. And they just blindingly shine.
