i just read the news ...

the funny thing about this is ... Kelly is probably right ...

but Clive is right that kelly sucks at songwriting ... wink wink

but i do think Kelly as the "artist" should have the balls ... to just do what she wants ...

kinda like when Art Garfunkel left Paul Simon .... and ... when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor ... eek eek

Colonel Angus may be smelly. colonel angus may be a little rough . but deep down ... Colonel angus is very sweet.

i hate to say it but how can clive actually call someone a good or bad songwriter lol lol

No offens but Whitney's songs especially her early ones were not poetry... the people that wrote them sound like they wrote them in 10 minutes.

So clive thought those were passable but Kelly's? i'm not a fan of Clarkson but like Whitney she has a good voice that brings out whatever she is singinng about with heart.

Also doesn't Clive like cookie cutter lyrics? lol lol

Clive Davis recognizes a hit single, and will sometimes get behind an album if he thinks it will make money. He's good at that. And if he can have the best of both worlds, which he's done quite a few times, he'll jump all over it. The best example of this is Carlos Santana's 'Supernatural', which was pretty much 100% Clive Davis' baby. He hired half the music industry to create an "of the moment" greatest hits album, and it worked.

Kelly has been getting support from artists on twitter etc.. I believe her. I don't know much about clive but his actions during whitney's death made me side eye him very hard.

Clive's actions concerning Phyllis Hyman was the first of many warnings that he was and still is a slick devil.

And lets not forget how Clive verbally shut Alicia Keys down to prevent her from further discussion against gangsta rap. Remember, Clive was the one that gave Sean Combs the start-up money to create Bad Boy Entertainment, the label of the late Notorious B.I.G., an east coast gangsta rapper. And you can best believe that Clive is still making money off the blood of Biggie & Whitney.

He got the side eye from me once Phyllis Hyman's friends talked about how he kept her from doing anything really artistic... after the situation with Whitney, I know he ain't no different from other label execs that probably think their artists provide more profit dead than alive.

1. Clive still makes some money off of Biggie & Whitney.

2. Tommy still makes some money off of Michael.

3. Jimmy still makes some money off of 2pac.

Figure it out.

Is it fair to say Berry Gordy still makes money off of, oh I don't know, Marvin?

Supernatural is a good album... but also a strange one for that reason.

Lauryn Hill and Eric Clapton were already friend's with Santana so the collabs made sense but Eagle-Eye Cherry? Everlast? Dave Matthews? lol lol lol lol

It was just a strange album with to many collabs and guest musicians... but hey it made lots of money for everyone i guess.
