Redhead Kingpin! Anyone remember this dude? He had hits like Do the right thing and Pump it hottie. I recently got his first album and it's great! He had quite a flow. Whatever happened to him? Is he Unsung?? [Edited 2/19/13 13:08pm]

He became a songwriter and producer under his real name David Guppy. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

He was one of the writers of this track: He did some other stuff too. I have a friend who would know more about this, as he's a really big New Jack fan. He was the one who told me Redhead was a producer. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. Very cool! He was pretty talented so I hope he's still doing music on some level. If your friend knows anything, let me know.

I talked with the guy earlier today and he said that he lost track of Redhead, but the last thing he remembered was that Redhead produced some songs by a singer named Case and another one named Mona Lisa. I've never heard of them. He didn't have his CD's with him, so he didn't remember all of the songs offhand, but mentioned a few songs.
