A great song by Madonna, that she just could not perform effectively live. Also the single cover posted above made me think of the dreadful remixes by Steve "Silk" Hurley. A house music dynamo pushing forgettable r&b. The song did not need a remix. For "You'll See" she was smart and recorded"Veras" with a live song for the single. I remember being really disappointed with the CD single and never playing it.

It's my favorite Babyface song. As for Madonna has she done anything since ray of light? LOL. As for Madonna's peak, I would say Blond Ambition tour.

She has had many hits and record breaking tours since. And remains a big name outside the US.

What's so Funny is the "Like a Prayer" video caused so much controversey back in the day and today it would be considered childs-play...

Those were the good'ol Days when Madge didnt give a Damn about the Critics and stuck to her Vision of expression...I miss that Chick sometimes..She'll show herself today every blue moon...

Now she's a Mom that Loves her babies and living her Artistry a different way...

I know many videos from the 80s that were controversial, are nothing to us 90s kids lol. I love the attitude Madge had, she really represented all those women who didn't give a fuck about what people said about them.

Btw, what happened to that movie she did in Italy? Didn't hear much about it.

That album is her most consistent since Like a Virgin in my opinion, though American Life comes close too.

I think every entertainer get's distracted by Public opinion, you want to put out a good album no matter what the results (artistic integrity) but then ego jumps in and they flounder Prince Michael Jackson Madonna and many others have done it. After her Confessions album I have to believe something about Public response or lack of to a very good album kicked it

She was always a superstar IMO since I knew of her in the mid 80's, and was heavily talked about even during the Sex scandal for her body of work. I don't think Take a Bow secured her status, cause she never really went away after Erotica and had a top 10 with Secret which still gets airplay. It was just a hit that had good timing cause of the popularity of r&b/hip hop on the charts, that's all.

She will never do a farewell tour. ever. She'd consider that limiting herself. Didnt she say after the Blond Ambition tour that she'd never tour again in her life. i think she said in 1998 that she didnt expect to be parading round Madison Square Garden at the age of 50. cut to the age of 54 and she's a touring machine.

I loved it when she performed Take A Bow on Wetten Das (Germany) with Babyface - (I think it was lip-synced?) but she looked divine with her hair up and the mauve dress and mauve feather boa - it was such a soft performance -

You'll See is one of my fav songs and videos too -

She really could do nice ballads - "Playground" another fav -

but now she does crappy stuff - sad to say after being a fan since the early 80s - Oh well.........

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

Take a Bow did SECURE something. I agree with others that Madge was a BONAFIDE Icon in the 80's so she already had the Star-Cred in Spades. But Take a Bow was an unpredictable union with BabyFace who was the HOTTEST Producer out...All eyes were on him and then when the single BLEW up and stayed on the Charts in the #1 spot for weeks it did Secure her as a 90's Heavy-Hitter...

You can have great selling Albums, Through-the-Roof ticket selling Concerts but what EVERY Artist wants and needs is a #1 single. If it can stay #1 for weeks and you're already an Icon like Madge, Whitney & Mariah that is just the icing on the cake...

Yeah it sucked admitting that her current album sucked, for the first time in my life since the mid 80s when I got into her

Wasn’t this video and ‘you’ll see’ an unofficial show reel for ‘Evita’? I.E. She intended to show casting directors that she had an ability to play a classy and ‘conservative’ woman

I remember hearing that too, in addition to writing a letter about why she should have the role instead of who they intended on giving it to first, Michelle Phieffer.
