I dont think so. I liked very much some singles of hers in the past, I was crazy about Crazy in Love when it came out, and also about the sophisticated vocal harmonies and slow moody funk of Say My Name. Later, I discovered gems like the sheer funk of Freakum Dress (which sounds amazing live), from the same producer of Crazy in Love, from her 2006 album.
But it was the Sasha Fierce album that finally got me. It's a great pop album. She proved once and for all how good she is on singing ballads (like in Broken-hearted girl), she showed she can be experimental, her phrasing when she sings is very original and creative (no other rnb artist to compare), and songs like Radio, with it's electronic-rnb genre blend, and Ego with it's laid back jazzy horn-piano based melody, got me pretty hooked. And besides she surprised the world with a rnb song that had few to none similarities to current rnb and much more to do with old school rnb and doo wop (maybe the Temptations, Jackie Wilson and the O'Jays), Single Ladies, that swept the world and became the biggest hit of 2009.
Then, this last album, "4", although was her least successful (and does that matter artistic-wise really? not 4 me), was the best of her career IMO. Love on top felt classy rnb, maybe like something of Luther Vandross or Aretha Franklin in the 80s. Party has this 80s rap pace and synths with a wonderful vocal harmony put above. 1+1 is a big soul ballad, she sings it with much emotion, and I have no problem imagining it being performed by the greatest soul singers from the past. Countdown has crazy rhythms and vocal phrasing and must be her most experimental song yet. And showed also on that album the notorious feat of taking the influence of Fela Kuti (!!!) and turn it to a pop song (End of Time), that stills recalls Fela Kuti (who did that before? not that I know).
Therefore, I expect much more good surprises from Beyoncé. She made an impressive creative step foward in the last years, and has always shown from the beginning she could do remarkable singles, even though she lacked back then the consistency she has now.
Anyway, I don't think Prince, BACK IN 04, that is, before this maturing I think she's had later, would perform with her and commend her singing talent for no reason. She is entertaining and talented, but musically she is not creative and every time it seems she is about to do something different, she regresses. I guess I'm tired of the redundancy. To me, her weakest album is her first album. I liked the singles once they grew on me, but B'Day and Sasha Fierce were her best albums. As for 4, the songs I like I really like, but it's not consistent. I've been to two tours and they were good, but she showed no growth in between and I knew that I was going to get a good thing going to those tours cause I really thought she would peak then and wasn't sure about after, and look at where we are. Still making similar music, not really changing her image though it would have benefitted her, and I'm getting bored with her performances and people thinking she's the greatest. She's good, but she is NOT a legend.

Beyonce is one of the best in the game she is what a call a true entertainer but this performance was lackluster. It seems like once u have seen a performace from her u have seen them all i expected her to take it to the next level this was the time where she should have "Wowed". I guess i just have high expectations ...

B-Girl didnt break a sweat....Excellent performance....I Love she gets down on her knees and shakes her head all over the place....Great seeing Kelly & Michelle doing their thing. They used a lot Lights so I'm not surprised the Stadium Power Supply went into over-drive...
Jennifer Hudson, Alecia Keyes & B-Girl gave Awesome vocals and showwomanship....
Jennifer's performances are Flawless these days because she has FULL control over her POWER...She's focused and when she Sings she gets the job done...She's becoming a Singer's singer...

I didn't get to read all the comments earlier . Yes it was a typical Beyonce performance but when you think about it, that is exactly what you're supposed to do for such an event like super bowl half time. That is what Prince, Madonna, U2, Usher did too you know. You can't use this opportunity to experiment and try out some sort of new image or performance style that you're not even used to. You can't perform all the new, fresh songs that no one ever even heard of but your die hard fans. You should do what you're most comfortable doing and what you're best known for...The main audience is football enjoying general public and you got what, 15 minutes to excite the crowd who aren't quite familiar with who you are. Of course she's gonna do her biggest hit songs, of course she's gonna follow the formula that was originally set by MJ that a lot of of artists performed at the super bowl half time followed (starting the show with a fast-paste/high energy song and ending it with an anthem/ballad). Just my opinion..=) [Edited 2/4/13 0:26am]

Her being on her knees and shaking her head, she already did it at her shows, and so did other artists before her. I don't know why the hell people are getting excited on twitter and facebook over her in general. I guess I'm over her.

Did you see the tweet from Keyshia Cole about Michelle's performance? Yikes! Totally uncalled for but it's true that Michelle doesn't seem to posses that "it" factor that Kelly and Beyonce have. I still like her though.

Even if she inspires only ONE young girl it will be a Blessing. Every Artist wants their body of work to touch somebody.
It's not B-Girl's job to make children go to school or dictate what they should listen to musically @ home. That's what Parents are for.

She has no stage presence, other than her looks.I don't see the talent or charisma(fake charm)

Only thing I agree with. Jennifer was there to sing. She doesn't need any theatrics & special light shows. She does what she is there to do & leaves..
I was not impressed by Beyonce. Alicia I'm sorry she can't sing. She gets worse and worse. My favorite album by her was The Diary of Alicia Keys. After that her songs stopped being memorable to me. Beyonce didn't live up to the hype of it at all... [Edited 2/4/13 1:40am] will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! Thats because DC is not a real group and Michelle being there is not a factor but Michelle was never much of a singer or performer anyway.
I liked DC better than solo Beyonce but I think the group is overrated overall in terms of it being a creative "group".
TLC is way more creative and Iconic.
Destiny Childs group was ALWAYS about "Beyonce" which is why all the other members got fired or left . Obviously she stayed because her father formed the group and she always was the lead singer. Kelly lived with Beyonce growing up and they were close so she was not going to leave either ( I LOVE Kelly Rowland but I just dont like how she bullshits about it being a group, just because your close with Beyonce does not mean it was/is a real group outside of that).
Michelle Williams, like many other former members of DC was just added so it "could appear" like it was a group

Sound issues aside (which were horrible!), I thought her song selection was lousy. She looked good. But as many have said, she did lots of hair flinging and booty shaking. Still, did we expect more? That's what's made her the star she is. Didn't hold a candle to U2 and Prince (best half time shows ever, imo), but it wasn't the worst (Who? Black Eyed Peas, etc). "She made me glad to be a man"

I give it a A+
It was almost as good as the Prince performance, so I'd say it's probably the second best one that I've seen. She kept it going, and the pace was great. She also wipped the crowed into a frenzy. She should have had more backup vocals, and a backing track or something, because in a stadium that huge her voice got drowned out a bit.
Also, the song selection was not my thing. I like her as a singer/performer, but the music is pure garbage.
That being said, it was a terrific performance. I prefer this one much moreso than the Madonna performance, or that tacky Michael Jackson nightmare everybody else seems to praise.

Beyonce's Super Bowl performance exposed how weak her catalog really is. Her song selection may have seemed poor, but that's because her body of work is lacking for an artist of her caliber. "Single Ladies" is her most iconic anthem song (and she has plenty of anthem songs) so it made sense that she sung that one. But really, what else could she have song...Ring the Alarm, Irreplaceable, Freakum Dress, Diva, If I Were A Boy??? The best she could do was Crazy In Love, Single Ladies, Halo and the medley of D.C. song and that speaks volume.
Overall I give her performance a B-/C+.
I wonder how did Michelle manage to get selected to be in the group when she can't sing or dance.

I wouldnt call Single Ladies iconic but it is probably her signature/ most well known song.
Beyonce has a fairly weak catalogue and has not produced one iconic album or classic song.
Beyonce, Kelly, Michelle are all average dancers. Beyonce has had time to perfect her weave tossing booty shaking routine and Kelly just has it.
The original lineup: B, Kelly, Letoya, La Tayvia was a solid group, they all could carry a tune. They still dont touch En Vogue vocally though
I still dont see how booty shaking and weave tossing means your a good dancer. She has never done intricate dancing.
The most intricate she has done was Single Ladies and even that choregraphy is not intricate.
Intricate is what Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, hell even Ciara does.
I thought Ciara's tribute to Michael Jackson on the Diva Special was more entertaining and creative than Beyonces halftime.
Somebody must have been high as a kite when they said Beyonces halftime was better than MJ's Like WTF? What are you smoking? [Edited 2/4/13 7:49am]

I think she hit a home run.
I don't care for the vast majority of her music ( I think have 5 songs I liked from her in the last 16 years, and they're all retro-sounding ) She pulled a lot out of herself for this show and from a purely objective view, when I look at her in the mold of those 70's style variety show entertainers that sang and danced, I think the girl performed within an inch of her very life indeed... and proved that she has chops, stamina, and a very strong stage presence .
So good job... even though I had no idea what 50% of the songs were, and generally think the material she performs is crappy and beneath her abilities. But in all fairness, she gets an A from me for ability and competency.
