There were some sound issues throughout the show that may have been related to the power outage that happened just after the start of the third quarter, but Michelle has a pretty thin voice to begin with.

Well I just finished watching her Super Bowl performance on the net, and I would rank it a 5 out of 10 just for the simple fact that it was just the same o stuff.

I exactly thought it was pretty boring.

Same booty shaking and same leotards. I really dont see how anybody can think she is a good dancer, she didnt even dance just whipped her hair and shaked her ass

I notice she relied heavily on the visual effects and I thought they were boring to. (Its your time to shine why are you relying on tv visuals instead of busting your ass on the performance floor?)

It was nice to see DC together but Kelly and Michelle didnt really add any value to the performance especially Michelle.

The Destiny's Child reunion was slightly disappointing poor Michelle her outfit was horrible and her voice is so weak she still can't carry a tune. Her dance steps were stiff you could tell she was trying to keep up on the 'Single Ladies' number. Wow Kelly Rowland was fierce!! She got thick but she looked good.

Kelly did look good and she WAS and IS fierce. She sounded pretty good as well.

I'd say this is about 6 on my personal rank. It was great but I've seen several more entertaining shows. She did better than Madonna but she's also 20+ years younger.

It was cool I guess. Nothing spectacular.

Watched it on Youtube and it was well...boring. I skipped through most of the performance as it was exactly what I've seen on other Awards shows at least she tries when she's on stage and has energy, but it seems she's very unfocused.

Serious question: why do people say she's a good dancer? All it seems she does is a) strut across the stage b) flip her hair c) writhe around on stage.

So it was meh, I wouldn't call it terrible, but I wouldn't even call it good. The same ol', same ol'.

Perhaps someone that has never seen her perform would be impressed.

Same wind blown hair. oops Weave, leotard, booty shake, grind annd musical arrangement. Essentially it's eye candy for men and women who really on the old standards of beauty but not brains.

I saw her live at the Sasha Fierce tour. I loved that tour. The songs (I think she has an AWESOME repertoire, some of the best rnb/pop songs of the last 10 or 15 years!), she sung GREATLY live, the outfits, the choreographies.

She seems to have had poor preparation for this Super Bowl performance though. The beginning staging was exactly the same as in the Sasha Fierce tour (only she sung Love on top instead of Deja vu to prelude Crazy in Love), very uncreative. All the other songs seemed to have been but randomly there. And the ending, with Single Ladies followed by her singing Halo on her knees, was exactly the same as that tour AGAIN. She used a lot her iconic choreographies (regarless if she's a good dancer or not - iconic choreographies have been made for her songs), and that was like a reprise of the dances we all are tired of knowing from youtube and tv. And she did not blow me away with her singing this time, cause I know she COULD have, since she has proved so many times what a great live singer she is. The outfits did not have ANY visual impact for me. As for Destiny's Child, Kelly can sing (but is only an OK singer, must be said) and was looking STUNNING, and the other girl, well, ok (let's give her the chance of an ok), but Destiny's Child songs were all 99% sung by Beyoncé anyway, so to me is was pointless.

Finally, I'm a fan, but I was underwhelmed, and thought the show was poorly conceived and performed.

I preferred Madonna's last year. I'm a fan of both and understand the two are very different talents. Madonna did not sing live as Beyoncé did (even though Beyoncé's singing was ok at most this time). Madonna could sing too, she was never a mind blowing singer live, but there are many examples that when she focus she can sing pretty decently live, and with feeling (especially ballads).

The problem is when Madonna thinks she should dance, she totally gives up singing and starts to dub, and that, sadly, what was happened in her Super Bowl performance. But Madonna's performance was more coherent, songwise, four songs (Vogue, Music, Give Me All Your Loving and Like a Prayer), each song illustrated with it's own image identity on stage. She used more wisely the space of the stage (and the shooting favored that movement). It was better, IMO. I know MJ dubbed too, which was absurd, if anyone could sing in the world, he could, but anyway...

She misspelled it "phenominal", then changed the i to a capital e. Look at the other e's, all lower case.

Not that I didn't think Beyonce was pretty boring as a musical act (mashup, blah), but all the big stars repeat their choreographed songs for many years. MJ, Janet, Madonna etc...

Why the heck would MJ rechoreograph Smooth Criminal anyways?

I give it a 3 on a scale of 10. Points:

1. Beyonce must have set a record for Most Money Paid vs. Least Amount of Words Sung. If she sang 100 words, I'd be surprised

2. The sound system was HORRIBLE. It was like they mic'ed one of the floor monitors. Man, if that was the soundboard feed, the sound guy should be run out of the industry

3. What is the point of surrounding yourself with 20 dancers who are wearing pretty much what you are, and are doing the same dance you are? Congratulations Beyonce, you were basically one of 21 skilled dancers on stage!

4. Horrible song selection. The only thing that worked was "Single Ladies" and for some reason, Beyonce shared the stage with two other girls.

5. There was no reason to have a Destiny's Child reunion. No one cares about a Destiny's Child reunion. No one.

All told, Prince and Bruce Springsteen are still easily the two best halftime performers in history. Beyonce ranks somewhere above The Black Eyed Peas but probably below Up With People.
