I have all of his albums, except the new standards one, so I have no use for these. Not really interested in CDs anyway. If they were re-released on vinyl, I'd buy the 1984 album again. I'd rather Motown put out the unreleased album with Good For The Gander on it. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I was aware of them, but I already have all of them on CD (including the 2005 reissue of the 1984 album).
As someone who predominantly collects CDs, I'm still waiting for his Motown material to get the Hip-O Select treatment... **hay stack rolls by**

If these remasters are ever for sale over at iTunes, I'll purchase the bonus tracks. I have Jermaine's Arista material already. J. J. Motown discography is what I think everyone wants.

They're just a couple of remixes. I already have the maxi singles for most of them, and these CDs don't have all of the mixes that were contained on the 12"s. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. I think the Let's Get Serious album is in print in Japan, but imports usually cost a bit more. These were issued on FunkytownGrooves website a while ago. They are still selling them on there. They also have a 40% off sale going on now, so if you want these, they are on sale for cheap.

I think so too. I think it is around $30 USD. I'm considering ordering it for myself.
Let's Get Serious and "Jermaine" are both available on iTunes. [Edited 1/23/13 9:05am] **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

LOL, same here, I thought somebody at Universal had finally woke up.
Although I'm a big Jacksons collector these days, I bought my current Arista Jermaine CDs too recently to get too excited about these... ditto the Rebbie Jackson Centipede one that FTG has also released lately.

There's 2 albums titled Jermaine, one from 1972 and the other was released in 1980. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I forgot about that. The one on iTunes is the one from 72. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Yeah, the 1972 album has been available in Japan for years. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. I've known about the Don't Take It Personal remaster. I just didn't have that much interest in it. Check me out and add me on:

The Commodores are next in line, than Jermaine as talent they've yet to touch over at Hip-O these past ten years.
They've tackled all the top Motown talent from Diana Ross/Supremes (the most), Tempts and solo, Fur Tops, Marvaletts, Vandellas, Smokey, J5 and Mike, Marvin Gaye, DeBarge, Rick James, Tina Marie, even Syreta, Blinky, Rare Earth and Edwin Starr got love.
I don't count Stevie Wonder. PRINCE: Always and Forever

At least The Commodores are something different, depending on which albums or material they'll reissue. That Jackson 5 package they released last September was nice, but didn't really hold my interest as it should have. Marvin's Trouble Man package was more of the same.
I'm surprised they haven't done anything with Stevie...

Other than some of the 1960's albums and Where I'm Coming From, Stevie's albums have never really been out of print. I think Stevie has the original masters to his post 1970's music, not Motown. These would be nice for them to put out. Stevie's entire output is virtually all on iTunes, but it would be nice to get a re-release of that 1977 anthology Motown released to cash in on the success of Songs in the Key of Life, entitled Looking Back. Check me out and add me on:

All of Stevie's albums were available in Japan, including the Little Stevie ones. I guess they're still in print. Looking Back was pretty much like the Anthology compilations Motown had for other acts. Was there any different mixes on Looking Back? I know with the Beatles red compilation, 1 or 2 of the songs had different mixes than the versions that were on the albums. I believe there were different mixes that were used specifically for that particular anthology. All of Stevie's albums are readily available in Japan. I happen to have one in my possession, which happens to be a mini-lp SHM CD of Journey Through The Life of Plants. Nicely done and caused a large dent in my wallet too. Check me out and add me on:

I still have the record for that with the braille on the cover. I also have the CD version that came out in the 1990's, but I never listen to it because the vinyl sounds better to me. The CD sounds flat. Also on side 3 of the album, there's some bird sounds on the fadeout groove. If you don't have an automatic record player, you will have continuous nature sounds until you lift the stylus. The SHM-CD has that, but the original CD from the 90s doesn't. Did the fade-out occur after "Come Back As A Flower?" Check me out and add me on:

Yeah, that's the last song on that side. The LP also has a perfumed scent to it. I can still smell it, although it's kinda faded a little. That was back in the 1970's when they had these extravagant foldout album covers. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B.
