I think his last album D.N.A flopped hard.
I saw dozens of copies of that for about a year in the r&b section at Amoeba and i don't think it sold any even when it went in the dolalr bin.

It hasn't come out yet- which is a good sign for her that Epic is going to at least try to push the record.
LaFace just gave up on her completely and started dumping her albums at the end of the year. Hell, I think that last album- Basic Instinct- was a set up job.
I think LaFace set her up to fail with the songs they let The Dream produce for her. I think somebody at the label told Dream to give her the worst tracks he had. [Edited 1/17/13 18:49pm] | |

THe label was in transition (LaFace was dissolved again, and the artists became apart of the RCA Music group), she wasn't selling, and both parites were not happy.
Her last album was pushed backed 4 times before they basically put it out about 2 weeks before Christmas in 2010- with little promotion. That practice is called "dumping" in the business. The labels use "dumps" as tax write offs.
Ciara left LaFAce and signed with Epic. We'll see what La Reid does with her this year.
