This one and one of the two other new songs that you posted previously sound really good. Classic The System sound without sounding stale or stuck in the past. Like a worthy and up to date continuation of their trademark sound without sounding desperate to sound modern, like most of their peers do. Really nice. Albeit the voice DOES sound a bit older, but that´s ok.

I wonder how some musicians manage to stay true to their old sound in this day and age, and some , including Prince, have a hard time re-creating their old sound from the 80s. Since I´m not a musician, I don´t really know about the hardware and technology behind it. Is it that they simply kept their old instruments and use them whereas Prince didn´t (or doesn´t), or has it more to do with how you use those instruments? MPLSound was anything but the Minneapolis Sound, whereas the new songs by The System sound pretty much like their songs always did back in the day.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

David wrote about the construction of the new songs and he's using new equipment that wasn't around in the 80's, so it's not a case of doing things the same way. I guess there's just some unique tricks that they use that make their sound what it is.

See this is why i have such a hard time getting into some of the new(ish) singers, bands and rappers that have that electro dance sound(which are many).

Bands, groups and individuals like The System, Jellybean Benitez, Yaz(oo), Yellow, Mantronix, Afrika Bambatta and Planet Patrol, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Juan Atkin(Cybotron) Etc. Those were some of the orginators of electro and electro-dance and in my opinion they just did it much better than most of today's similar sounding bands.

Anyway sorry for the rant. The new stuff sounds good.

The way the new tunes are written is similar to the older songs. The instrumentation is also similar, although David is using modern equipment. He did a really good job on System Overload!!

Yeah, Mic somewhat sounds like he needs his false teeth glued back in! lol

Bless him though, the track totally kicks ass IMO, including the vocals. Good stuff!

What happened to his teeth? eek

PS: I really like your avatar. And I really, really, REALLY like Darlene Ortiz. By the way, she posed for a remake of that "POWER" album cover for King Magazine, and she still looks very hot.

Good question. I too have also noticed his teeth sound funny when he sings. I don't care. I still love them though.
