How would you rate Fantasia as a singer? We all know Fanny is ratchet as hell, but how would you rate her pipes? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

She can sang, but the girl is a little crazy. I huess she should have tried to have been discovered a way other than Idol, which does kind of cheapen their credibility a bit. Her voice is good, but you need more than that. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

No doubt the woman can sing but when she screeches, she loses me. Screeching is NOT an official form of singing. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

As a vocalist, Fantasia is one of my favorite soul screamers (yes I said it: soul screamer!!! )
As a human being, Fastasia has been f***ing up in her personal once too often.
As a celebrity, Fastasia still has some growing up to do. Aretha needs to talk some more sense into that woman-child.

Ahh, my favorite soul screamers are Wilson Pickett and Bobby Womack. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

She's an obviously talented soul singer.
Her screaming though does lessen her credibility.
But I must say visually, as in stage performance, her screaming serves her well. No one currently on the scene puts as much into her performance as Fantasia. Beyonce don't count because she puts in a lot of leg work. Fantasia is a spontaneous dynamo!

We all Love ourselves some Fanny...
On a scale from 1 to 10 I give her vocals a 7. I give her vocals a 7 simply because minus the Wailing, just her Raspy singing voice by itself is worth its weight in Gold. When you watch her perform LIVE she connects with you and draws you into the performance.
That means we have an Emotional connection with her and the ONLY other vocalist she reminds us of that has that same connection is Patti LaBelle. Once you're emotionally connected to a Singer they have you for Life...
Fanny's personal life is a Bunch of MESS. It's a Damn shame she got all that Drama going on to be so Damn young. I don't know what to say about it but she need to KNOW better so she can start doing better.
I wish her manager would book her all over the place and just keep her busy so she can leave the wrong people ALONE. She need to focus on her kids and career and just continue making a better life for the 3 of them.
Fanny is headlining the Superbowl Gospelfeast and one of the Cable Gospel channels is going to air it LIVE but I don't know which one....

Well, I think Fantasia can out-sing 95% of her contemporaries. She just needs to harness in her voice. Screaming is fine. With today's auto-tuning and computer enhanced voices, we need more natural Soul screaming in R&B. But, you must have control over it in order not to sound off-key. I think that's her biggest problem. As a live performer, she lacks control when it comes to performing the big songs. She wants to be Patti Labelle. She should let that go and just be herself. Agree with the both above me....
I love her Idol performance of "Fool in Love" and "Summer Time" for me perfection for her.
The comment that Fantasia is a spontaneous dynamo is proven with her performance in the Patti Labelle Tribute. She murdered the lyrics to Lady M but who cares...she rocked that joint and Patti LOVED IT! "A Man Can't Ride Your Back Unless It's Bent" MLK 4/3/68

Tasia sing better than all them overrated heffas and she has more soul than they have in their pinky fingers. She does tend to scream and lacks control at times but overall she is a talented vocalist and she captures alot of soul in her music.
Capturing soul or emotion is more important than technical abilities to me because anybody can be a good technical singer but it is a true gift when you are able to resonate to audiences through emotion

She can flat out blow...........but her material is substandard. She needs better writers and much better producers.

she can blow, she seems to have really good control, she has a very huge mouth

Very soulful and like a wild banshee. Her articulation is sometimes suspect, one goes, "What did she say?". I agree with the material many times being lacking. She needs good soul writers. Attempts to make her pop are an epic fail. Music Royalty in Motion

Her first album was very good though.
I think Summertime is my favorite by her. I still remember watching it on AI, very memorable performance.

In my opinion Fanny should go ahead and make a Gospel Album. It won't cost much to do...All she gotta do is use her Home-Church, fill the place up and do it LIVE....
I wonder if BET would be interested in making a Deal with her to produce a 1hr taped Gospel Concert showcasing the CD?
