Nirvana reunites tonight with Paul McCartney as lead singer

I'm not making this up ...

http://www.huffingto...nk2&pLid=244627

If a curious report from the Sun is to be believed, Sir Paul McCartney will front a Nirvana reunion with Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic at Wednesday's massive 12-12-12 benefit concert.

The event is set to take place at Madison Square Garden and will benefit Hurricane Sandy victims (a live stream of the concert will be available on HuffPost Entertainment). McCartney would reportedly take the place of the late Kurt Cobain.

“I didn’t really know who they were," the Beatle said of being in the studio with Grohl and Novoselic. "They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said ‘Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time? And somebody whispered to me ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it.”

The 12-12-12 benefit concert features an impressive line-up, including Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Chris Martin, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who and, of course, McCartney.

The Huffington Post reached organizers of the 12-12-12 event and McCartney's representatives, both of whom declined to confirm details and advised viewers to tune in and see for themselves.

"Never let nasty stalkers disrespect you. They start shit, you finish it. Go down to their level, that's the only way they'll understand. You have to handle things yourself."

LOL! It actually could be decent if they did it like Unplugged and Paul sang something like On a Plane or About a Girl or Come as You Are.

If they try to rock out to Helter Skelter it just might end the world.

This is just like Lou Reed and Metallica... neutral Or if Phil Collins got with Black Sabbath if Ozzy was in Heaven like Kurt (thank God he's not though).

The title of this thread is misleading. Paul is performing with the former members of Nirvana but he's not doing Nirvana songs. Paul has performed with Dave Grohl before at the Grammys a couple of years ago, so I'm not sure why this is a big deal.

This makes as much sense as snoop dogg subbing for michael in the victory tour.
Why does there have to be a soundcheck? I don't have a songcheck. You don't have a clothescheck.

I think it's because Dave & Krist have not performed together since the 90's...and that they are trying to hype their TV event wink

they should have called PJ HARVEY- that would have been keeping in the spirit of 90s Nirvana.

They're not trying to revive Nirvana, they're just trying to make as many people watch this TV show as possible

Well, you're right. Something like that could actually work.

This is for a fundraiser, though, it's meant to be lame & sappy!

End of the world is approaching. lol

I'm glad that Paul is open to experimentation, he performed with many artists from different genres, but I do not think that the music of Nirvana fits him and vice versa.

"Cut Me Some Slack" will be included on the soundtrack of Grohl's new motion picture, Sound City Movie, according to media reports. I can dig it!

eek I think we have seen something remarkable (not necessarily great) that will be remembered

I've seen the video and it was more like Paul McCartney in his "Helter Skelter mode" singing with the Foo Fighters-Dave Grohl on the drums (no, it didn't sound like Nirvana)

Yeah, but I was checking out Paul's sweet cigar box axe. The song is essentially a jam, but driven with a monster riff.

Dave and Pat been friends from the jump. I guess if you have a big brother (Pat)/little brother (Dave) relationship like they do, you're bound to squabble. Pat returned to the Foo Fighters not too long ago.
