So i would have to say Pearl Jam is one of my all time favorite bands for many reasons.

One is cause imo they have made either great, good or average albums... but never a full on bad album.

I love ''Ten'' i do i get that it ''changed the game'' along with Nirvana ''Nevermind''

And even though Pearl Jam managed to sell 7 million copies of VS withotu a video or a big hit it well... impressive. I still feel like a lot of there other work past Ten is not as widely loved or realized.

VS has some amazing stuff on it and even has some funk guitar creeping up here and there.

''Vitalogy'' & ''Yield'' are Pearl Jam at the their darkest and features some of Eddie Vedders most powerful songwriting.

And my favorite album by them ''No Code'' is a wild mix of styles and even some humor thrown in.

The 00's work is pretty good in itself to.

So what are opinions on Pearl Jam's albums outside of Ten?

Vs. and Vitalogy are their best albums overall, IMHO. They have the punch of Ten but a little more darkness and intensity.

No Code onward - there are certain individual tracks that I absolutely love (Off He Goes, Light Years, for example)... but none of the albums as a whole really gel for me like their first 3 did.

I could probably put together a compilation of post-Vitalogy tracks as a 1 or 2 disc set and that would be best for me. But I'd have to sit down and work on it to see what tracks would be included.

I've like all their albums, though I can't forgive 'Glorified G' from Vs.

I think Vitalogy is my favorite. When they experiment, it isn't too abrasive. That, and there's some great songs on there.

A lot of my listening after that is informed by their live shows. I'm not disappointed by their albums, but there's a steadiness to them. Don't get me wrong, they push some barriers - but I'll admit that their lack of promotion doesn't help to distinguish one song from the rest. There, I said it, I'm a lemming, looking for a leader.

To be perfectly honest, I can't even name all of Pearl Jam's albums because they don't have the names on the album. There's this one with the king and queen on the cover, and there were some songs on it I really liked. The one with with the interstellar vagina on it was good too; I think there was some cartoon video from it. That one had a lot of energy. But I might be mixing up albums.

I cheered so hard when they did that Target commercial. The song was catchy as get-all. I've always judged my bands harshly for their success - "Sell Out!" and all that old story. But the song was so effing perfect, I hummed it ad naseum...and I was like: they found a hook!
