Kirk or Andrew said in a recent interview in October (I don't remember which one said it but one of them) that they were waiting on Michael's daughter to hopefully reach out to them at some point musically, and that they would welcome her - so I don't think it's THAT strange, or even strange at all, to hope one day she does. Since both Michael and Paula liked the spotlght, it doesn't seem too far off to think she might also. Factor in the crazy life she has had. If she could channel some of her thoughts and emotions lyrically...wow. I can only imagine. My one hope is that the great Sir Bob didn't utterly brainwash Michael's daughter. That's the last thing he would have wanted. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she was able to stay with her sisters, but I really hope she does love her past and isn't trying to just abandon her identity. That is Michael's blood inside her, not Sir Bob's. razz Last point I'll make on this, Michael was a home-wrecker if you want to call him that, but if you look deeper, obviously Paula and Bob's relationship was in big trouble before Michael came along, if after 30 minutes, as she has stated of interviewing him, she was fucking him. Harsh I know, but the truth is a bitch. So I think it is wrong and crappy when people just place blame at Michael's feet. Secondly, how many people on this earth do drugs, and have affairs and no one gives two sticks about it? But because Michael was in the spot-light, he becomes an easy and unfair target to judge. Not cool. Sounds like another music icon named Michael whom I happen to dig. wink

Now back to the music. Last year an INXS greatest hits album came out with a Gwen Stefani mash-up. Has anyone heard it? Is this it? Is it any good? Was honestly curious if this was the actual mix featured on the CD or if this was fan-made?

Thing is that Michael took it all on himself, as a documentary on INXS said, Michael loved england it was a home to him but now because of the BOB thing he was bad guy, no judge and jury and trial MICHAEL was the bad guy, and this trickled down to everything, If the band didnt sell it was his fault, if reviews sucked it was his fault, if anything went wrong it was on Michael because he was this bad guy. BUT people it takes two to make a relationship work and it takes 2 to make it end, Michale didnt walk in and break up happiness. I think alot of michael took on had nothing to even do with him, but every thing that happend it was on his head, he caused these things. And i feel that a combination of this and also his 1992 BRAIN injury which no one talks about, this injury he suffered caused depression because of the blow to his head upon a fall, he lost his senses of taste and smell, people try existing like that everyday where you have no taste or smell sense, this pushed his depression

Oh dear I HATED Oasis and took digs at them every chance I got. Liked this song a lot though and was impressed at the time they were still around cause I remembered liking Need You Tonight when I was really little, and couldn't believe he died when it happened.

Agreed. Huge fan of both, shame their most successful stuff was not the funkiest stuff so most Prince fans are oblivious.

Yeah, I thought of them mostly of a rock band with few funky tracks and I am not a rock music fan. I didn't know they did that much funk.

Been watching Live Baby Live concert and it's official. I am IN LOVE!!! MIchael is too cool and hot. lovelovelove How come he never got my attention before?

"Wow, trees have leaves from a hundred foot". lol I feel ya, Mike.

What does he say at 1:44? That he IS or IS NOT shy?

And did he write or read poetry about trees and leaves?

And what does he say about being in Arnold Schwarzenneger movie? Sorry, I am adjusting to his australian accent.

And btw, how do you read Live Baby Live. Is the first verb and the last adverb?

That's a dvd, too? Cool. I thought it was just a performance uploaded on youtube. I gotta get it. I also gotta get their albums. I just know some of INXS' hits. I've never heard any of their studio albums, but I am getting seriously into them. Their funky stuff is amazing!

SEVEN AND SHINE AUSTRALIA ANNOUNCE NEVER TEAR US APART: THE UNTOLD STORY OF INXS

15th December 2012

Shine Australia and Seven today announced the commission of “Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS”, the extraordinary and uncensored story of INXS told for the very first time in exclusive collaboration with the band and those who knew them best.

In this unprecedented, two part television event on Seven and in conjunction with Screen Australia, “Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS” will concentrate on the six members of the band and the artistic and emotional relationship at the heart of INXS, that of Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss. It will trace their incredible rise to the top of the international charts - ten albums, thousands of concerts, the unforgettable, headline show at Wembley stadium and the bitter aftermath of dealing with the loss of Michael Hutchence. It promises an authentic, behind the scenes look at what really happened - childhood mates from Sydney who were once the biggest rock and roll band in the world - beyond the music, the lights and the roar of a sell-out crowd.

Executive Produced by Mark Fennessy and Rory Callaghan with CM Murphy, the band’s highly talented manager as Co-‐Executive Producer, “Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS” will have full access to the INXS archive of music, photography and stories. Aside from the drama and appearances by actors playing Kylie Minogue, Helena Christensen, Bono and Paula Yates, the remarkable music of INXS will be at the heart of the series. From raw beginnings on the northern beaches of Sydney to 100,000 fans at Rock in Rio and the tragic news of Michael Hutchence’s death in 1997, “Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS” will relive some of INXS’s most seminal moments. And the viewer will be front row centre.

Mark Fennessy said: “This is a truly special project for us. There is no doubt the life of INXS is a compelling and extraordinary one and together with our partners Seven Network, Screen Australia plus contributions from Chris and the band we will tell the real story - true to the phenomenon, to the era and of course to INXS with all the very best and very worst moments. It will be an emotional, uplifting, must see television event for INXS fans and the Australian public alike”.

CM Murphy said: “The world has been begging for this story to be told for decades so to be able to work again with my friends Brad Lyons at Seven and Shine’s Mark Fennessy, gives me great comfort - knowing only the highest quality will hit the screens. Like with all things INXS, I look forward to creating television history - it is going to be a wild and exciting ride!”

Tim Farriss said: “People have been talking about the lives and times of INXS constantly for years, often getting the facts wrong, speculating on various issues and asking for TV and film rights. It seems that, finally, good people who we trust to do us justice and actually involve us in the project will finally happen. So we are very excited, proud and to be honest a little nervous about helping with a truly fascinating story about our band INXS. We have always felt there is so much to tell about the life and times of INXS that if this were to happen, it should be an accurate portrayal of the ‘facts’. It certainly will evoke every emotion to all involved, from ‘us to the viewer’. Although it may be a hard thing to watch for some of us, I can’t wait!”

Brad Lyons, Director of Network Production, Seven said: “Few Aussie bands have touched music fans around the world like INXS. Their massive success at home and abroad is a truly great Australian story worth telling and worth celebrating. This is a remarkable chapter in our music history and Seven is thrilled to be bringing the real story to Australian homes.”

Richard Manners, Managing Director, Warner/Chappell UK said: “INXS are one of the finest rock bands that Australia has ever produced. I am delighted that Warner/Chappell is trusted by the INXS team to represent not only their songs but also their master synch rights, and it has been a pleasure to work with Chris and their management team in the process of transforming a band into a brand. The upcoming TV mini-series is an exciting way to celebrate INXS’s remarkable body of work and demonstrates the innovative and dynamic opportunities we create for our outstanding songwriters and their exceptional music. 2013 will be the year of INXS, without a doubt.”

“Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS” marks a new and exciting additional direction for Shine Australia at this time of thriving locally produced content.

Mark added, “There is a real buzz within the scripted market in Australia and I’m proud that Shine is part of that. We’re about great storytelling and this is the first of some exciting announcements for us in Scripted content”

“Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS” will be filmed in Melbourne in 2013.

omfg woot! excited

Could you, guys, rate the INXS albums so that I know which to buy? Which ones are their most funky? Which one should I get first?

Thanks. But some Prince are fans rather for his "rock" stuff and some rather for the "funk". I have INXS greatest hits album and I don't care that much for Disappear or Heaven Sent. I think I am gonna end up buying all of them cause the truth is the more I listen to them, the more I like them. lol

Toofunkyinhere

I only know a handful of their albums, Kick, Listen Like Thieves, Welcome..., Elegantly Wasted, the only one i didn't really care for was Listen like Thieves, although it is critically acclaimed. I love all those other albums , Kick's probably the obvious starting point, with the classic hit singles. From what i've heard of the Full Moon Dirty Hearts album on here, it sounds a little more funky and raw than the others.

We're here, might as well get into it.
