Faith No More- Angel Dust Album

can we please just talk about how brilliant this album is lol

I have been listening to it quite a lot past few months from time to time.... i find something new & interesting to like about it each time.

This album is an orgasm of sounds, the mix of rock, metal, and the classical piano/organ sounds.

Mixed in with orchestral beats, samples, Mike Pattons ever changing vocal style & even jazzy litte numbers...

This album is just a clusterfuck of amazingness..... it's an insult(In a good way) on the ears and mind.

Oh & Jizzlobber has to still be my fav! that song is just like being punched in the face & then whiped dow with strange love.... or something lol

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

Thanks 2 u, I busted this album out for the first time in ages. FNM are the shit. Mike Patton is brilliant! I think i'm also gonna play Album of the year later on.

Not that they are alike but Ialso played STP's Core album. Soooo good!

I remember a buddy of mine was obsessed with this album when it was released and I just could not wrap my twelve year old mind around it. I didn't really "get" it until about ten years later.

I love that they were just coming off of a fairly successful album and this is what they followed it up with. Around that time they were slagged, particularly the singer, as being a knockoff of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I'm not saying that one of them is better than the other but when did the RHCP ever create anything remotely similar to Angel Dust?

I absolutely despise the members of FNM and the fact that they are the godfathers of nu-metal, but I'll admit that MIDLIFE CRISIS is one hell of a song

I used to listen to this and The Real Thing a lot on the bus to school. It's peculiar that today it sounds of its time yet also so distinct and not central to all that was happening back then. I can't think right now of another album from back then that I would apply that to.

Malpractice is still mean shit.

Yes!, Mike got compared to Anthony a lot... but that was mainly around The Real Thing era.

And i can't lie i sort of thought the same... Patton even commented on it many times & mocked the peppers many times live lol

But Angel Dust sounds nada like a chili peppers album & Mike is actually a really interesting singer smile

I too thought Mike Patton was an Anthony Keidis wannabe when FNM first came out but they are so much better than The Chilli Peppers IMO. Mike Patton blows Anthony Keidis away vocally. Those 2 bands are miles apart. FNM are the real deal. They have true artistry and are unique. They should have been even bigger.

Dearie me, I was sitting on that bus 20 years ago...

There was a video comp called Croissant back then that showed Patton picking up plastic piss bottles thrown onstage and pouring them over his head, he was a proper nutjob ball of energy.
