Disco Track of the moment..."Native New Yorker" by Odyssey

"You grew up riding the subways, running with people. Up in Harlem, down on Broadway. You're no tramp but you're no lady, talkin' that city talk. You're the heart 'n soul of New York City."

It's not the Top 30 all-time played disco songs, but once in a blue moon you might hear on the radio when they have disco night. I've always loved that song. Uptempo rollerskating song definitely. That's the only song I know by that group, but I've heard others mentioned before. Also I associate the song with an episode of Good Times when Thelma danced to it. lol
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

I love this track, but "Inside Out" is MY JOINT!!! Right from the intro it's got Arrington's vibe all over it.

Are you sure it was written by Frankie Valli? I'm looking at the credits and it says "written by S.Linzer and D.Randell",are one of those guys really Frankie?

I have a hits compilation by Odyssey that contains these songs...

"Native New Yorker" (12" Version)
"Weekend Lover"(12" Version)
"Don't Tell Me,Tell Her"
"Going Back To My Roots"
"Inside Out (12" Version)
"Use It Up,Wear It Out"(12" Version)
"Together"(12" Version)
"Easy Come,Easy Go/Hold De Mota Down"(12" Version)
"I Got The Melody"
"Hold On To Love"

I don't know too much about those other songs, but the song "Together" is funky as hell! Can anybody recommend a more recent, better compilation by them? I bought this one in 1994.
