Jazzy Jeff's the only reason that era matters to me. Anything beyond that is shit. He had classics with Jazzy Jeff. Without him, he's just an actor who thinks he can rap.

Yeah I kinda need Jazzy in there too. Even on later shit like Willenium, if Jazzy was there, it's a chemistry that is undeniable.

i'll be the out man out lol & say he is a decent rapper.

I had his BWS album when i was.. 7ish? & it still has some fun tunes. He does very kid-friendly non hardcore slow rapping & doesn't have much flow. But imo he get's the job done

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

He was actually very good at storytelling, in the Slick Rick mould, and funny.

"Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble"

"Just One Of Those Days"

"Don't Even Try It"

"Nightmare On My Street"

"Parents Just Don't Understand"

"I Think I Can Beat Mike Tyson"

"The Girlie Had A Moustache"

"You Saw My Blinker"

On a scale of 1 to 10 i'd say 6. He was money during the

early Jazzy Jeff period. He was corny as a solo rapper.

Pretty much. However, being a so called rapper isnt why he has been successful. Nobody prasing him for being a rapper.

I think he had a fun/comical thing going when he was working with Jazzy Jeff, it is classic but even that was no better than what Heavy D had did in the late 80s and Slick Rick.

Will Smith is better than most rappers of today easily. He was always above average imo. Besides....Nas ghostwrote some of his biggest hits, so hey, I can't really knock that. lol

Do you mean "The Fresh Prince?"

He was a good rapper for his time, the time of happy rap.

Though the most underrated from that era is Kwame.

Will Smith doesn't have to curse to respond to threads, well I do...lol

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

In the current hip-hop scene rappers are bunch of wannabe drug dealers and ex-prison guards pretending to be hardened crime lords because that’s “keepin it real”. Will Smith never pretended to be anything but a goofy kid from Philadelphia. Smith actually did keep it real, held on to his integrity, and unlike today’s rappers, Smith doesn’t have to sing auto-tuned backup vocals on dance tracks to pay his rent. Compared to most of the guys in the rap world, Will Smith is a king.

I love Will Smith. He had fun, kept it positive and didn't curse. Why this is seen as a bad thing is beyond me.
